Offline | I'm looking at making a purchase soon, but one dealer (Chicago suburb) told me they are selling strictly at the MSRP price. He suggested others in the US are selling above MSRP. I'm just trying to figure out what is 'reality' in the world right now... I have 3 dealers to choose from around Chicago, but only nearby one of the 3. Thanks! Offline | rblader, just make sure they don't slap a mandatory "package" (undercoat, paint sealant, etc.) on the bottom of the deal. Ask them up front. ![]() 2005 Mercedes Benz C55 AMG 2006 BMW Z4 M-Coupe - Premium Pkg. 2007 Honda Fit - Sports Pkg. 2005 V-Star 1100 Custom 2007 Honda 250 Reflex |

Offline | My reality from Knauz was list price, the options I wanted, and no pressure. My Salesman was excellent. The wait from after build to delivery was too long, but certainly not the fault of the dealer. Ordered May 1, built June 11th, delivered August 19th. Aside from the shipping agony I am very happy. Only problem was a burnt out taillight bulb in the first week, quickly taken care of by the dealer. |

| Chicago MINI Club Member | Patrick MINI Schaumburg I live in the north suburbs of Chicago, and I recently ordered my Cooper S from Patrick MINI in Schaumburg, after visiting all 3 Chicago area MINI dealers. They, by far, seemed to have the best policy in regards to placing orders. I was least impressed by Knauz MINI. Being a younger buyer, and a recent college grad, I got a very unwelome, he was better than me feeling from the 'Motoring Advisor' there. In their ordering policy, they wanted $500 more upfront to place an order, as opposed to Patrick MINI. Patrick MINI's $500 down to place an order was also completely refundable, something Knauz didn't even mention. All in all, I was far more impressed by the service, and atmosphere at Patrick MINI in Schaumburg, despite it being a bigger pain for me to get to than Knauz. Still paying MSRP, I started looking at it this way though.... I have gone out and driven everything from the New Beetle S to the Audi A4 1.8T Quattro in search of an acceptable new car, I have something of high expectations (and that might be understating it some) from a car. And for the amount ofmoney that I am going to be paying for my MINI, I cannot even come close to getting another car with the same options, that is nearly as cool. It is well worth the bang for the buck. Happy motoring!
