Offline | this is a question and a rant.... Q: any good dealer experience/recommendation for the Boston area? R: :-) I gave my $500 bucks to a dealer to indicate that I'm interested on a MINI S. Red, white roof, white stripes, sports package and that's it. it comes to approx. 21K. Now, i've been getting calls from this dealership with cars that are fully loaded (28K!! for a mini?? 350Z enthusiast is 30K!.. bah I can't afford either) or with the premium or cold weather package and other options that always seem to bring the car passed the 23-24K range It seems they are taking advantage of the short supply/high demand to push this "extravagant" models to me. I've made it clear what I want and that I'm willing to wait.. I guess you can't blame them for trying but if this continues I'm taking my money (not a lot of it mind you) somewhere else... I guess I'm just one more person disappointed with the low supply/high demand combo.... thanks for listening, have a nice day, please drive through... | Dead Man's Curve? Feh. | Search for threads on Herb Chambers MINI and MINI of Peabody. From the information provided you'll see that there seems to be little if anything good to be said about the way Herb Chambers conducts business. MINI of Peabody is quite highly rated. Also search the dealer ratings on minicooperonline.com and you'll find the opinion there is the same. After reading the above it seems clear which Boston area dealer you should avoid. |

Offline | TSDScooby, *Which* dealer did you give your money to..? Is it one of the two Boston area dealers mentioned..? It's OK to name and shame here, that's part of the point - so that other's get the benefit of the group's experience, good or bad. We got both our cars through Peabody and they seem fine - never pushed anything on us that we didn't want. |

Offline | Who is the dealer? At this point we are all assuming it's HC. Fill us in please. For the record, I got my MCS at MINI of Peabody and couldn't be happier with the entire experience. Missing my buddies Dan and Ed but glad I have two angel buddies , And on a quest to Right Secco's Wrongs |

Offline | Herb Chambers the dealer was Herb Chambers of Boston... as you probably guessed. I went to MINI of Peabody today and got to actually test drive the Mini S (something that was hard to do even after puting a deposit down at HC). I will now go and get my deposit back from HC. Pamlico, thanks for the links you provided.... what do you know the search button works ...happy driving. Cheers, TSDScooby |
