Exclamation Do you think your dealer is REALLY BAD, or REALLY GOOD?

If so, then nominate for our Good Dealer - Bad Dealer section!

www.mini2.com/dealers

The first winners (and losers) will be announced at the end of December, nominations close at the end of November!

Any comments on this new feature are also welcome!

Cool

Perhaps a section rating different areas too?

say:
Presales
Delivery
Service
etc

I look at them along with the other global moderators, and we basically decide on any particularly generous or poor dealer.

So far there's been 24 nominations, and only 2 bad!

Which is nice.

Wow! That's terrific! It's reassuring to know that most of the dealers are making people happy. I think MINI Center in San Antonio is going to be another of those, and will look forward to giving you a full report when their doors finally open.

In the mean time, I might have a third nomination in the other column... heh... but I'm going to give them some more time and the benefit of the doubt, and I hope they'll fix some of their misguided policies. I'm impressed that MINI and MINIusa seem to really listen sincerely to customer concerns, and work to make things better for us-- the cup that actually fits the cup holders is a brilliant example. Here's hoping our new local dealership will pay the same kind of attention, and work to help us out.

Momentum apologizes

Wow. Today, Mr. Chapman called to say that he has read our discussions on line here, and wants to apologize. He further offered to let me order my car today, without any mark-ups or dealer-added features.

I think the right thing for me to do is to accept his apology, but order from the good people in San Antonio who have been splendid from the start. I'll need a few days to think about it.

And in the mean time, I'd like to withdraw my nomination for Bad Dealer, with the hope that some good will shared in both directions will help steer Momentum toward more user-friendly policies and practices henceforth, that others might have good experiences there.

Wow, that's pretty impressive. Congrats Wynn, for sticking to your guns and not backing down when the legal bs was flying. And praise to Mr. Chapman for being big enough to admit a mistake.

Sounds like Momentum may be on the right track. I wonder if Rick Niello, owner of Niello Mini in Sacramento California ever reads these forums? It doesn't appear so, as their policies of dealer add-ons and price gouging are still in effect. Not to mention the arrogant way they treat customers who question their policies. Oh well, at least "educated" consumers have this website to help them make more informed decisions.
I'm glad I had the opportunity to post two nominations for good dealer-bad dealer. Mini of Murray gets two thumbs up and Niello Mini gets two thumbs down.

Thumbs up

OK, so I can't vote, but I will say that Brisbane BMW have been absolutely FANTASTIC.

Top marks to a superb and professional dealership. Good management makes all the difference.

So, whats up Paul? I check in every day to see if this amazing new feature is up and running yet! Do we have an ETA?

Slight technical hitch.

All should be 'go' for this week, but I might have to be friendly and only award good dealers for this first month.

Ah, you're no fun! Just place Niello BMW in Sacramento at the top of the BAD LIST and be done with it!

Actually, I'm working on it, it should be done (as it says on the good dealer bad dealer page) this weekend, and will include good and bad dealers.

I've decided to increase the scope a little, which is one of the hold-ups.

Ditto Mixdman...Niello Mini in Sacramento is bad to the bone, no offense to George.
So, where will we see the results? On the MINI 2 mainpage?

My selling dealer , Lauderdale MINI, has a terrific sales dept. My next MINI will most likely be ordered from them. On the other hand, their service dept appears to be lousy, disorganized and lacking in customer service.

My other closest dealer, South Motors MINI in Miami, has a lousy sales dept but an above average service dept.

Milcars NW London - the worst?

I think Milcars in NW London are the worst dealers because?

1) Paid £250 deposit, failed to invite me to launch of Mini.

2) Took 5 Months and 4 seperate visits to successfully fit a spare wheel and then tried to charge £185 instead of £35. They said it was a dealer fit option, when I had asked for it in my order for the car. Sales and Service basically accused me of lying. Had to speak to manager to get situation sorted.

3) Damaged my car during repair of leak, and then failed to pay extra insurance premium for curtesy car they supplied.

4) Always keep car longer than predicted for repair + Never have parts + Don't return most calls (Until they damaged my car while in for repair).

Has anyone had worse service than this?

Thumbs up Dealers and MINI CS

Just a thought from a new guy. I suspect my dealer, Herb Chambers in Boston has been whipped enough - and justifiably so. I do want to add a cheer for those great kids at MINI Customer Service here in the US. They are in Ohio but without their help, I'd still be waiting for my car. To a person, they are great.

Exclamation The Milcars mishaps continues....

This is how Milcars put back the A pillar trim on my Mini after it was repaired for having a stress fracture in the windcreen. It had to be re-done the next day, and fortunately was corrected. Have still never had a job done completely in one day, accept for its first service. If picture not shown apologies. They left a big gap!
