Sterling MINI is awesome!

The delivery of the car was nothing less than perfection The sales and service people couldn't be nicer or more accomodating

We've had our baby in for all the little nit noy fixes, etc. and I have to say - we have been treated like royalty. We get a loaner every time. I've gotten a bouquet of flowers from the cashier when we get the check-out slip I mean - how cool is that? And they have a valet service - brings your MINI right up to the front door..

It definately makes you feel like a million $$$$$$

Well, i LOVE the sales half of the MINI of Sterling...but the service half just doesn't do it for me. Lets just say that i haven't had the best experience with getting things fixed. Examples: Squeaky seats, AC/Heat being non-functional, Cold Start Software, etc....

Christal and comapany are the nicest people ever though!!

Whatever.

Grinder,

Sorry your experience has not been as good as ours and lots of others. Truly this is the first negative thing I've heard about Sterling. Maybe you caught them on a bad day?

Also not happy with Sterling

The wervice-writing staff at Sterling is aloof, unfriendly, and unwilling to discuss service to be done--including things learned on this and other sites.

They provide no loaner cars--even for a two-hour period.

Their mechanic stripped the body threads when replacing my hatch latch; no-one mentioned it when I picked up the car, although it was noted by the mechanic (gutsy guy).

Note that getting a car serviced is a much different operation anywhere than getting it bought--it's a seller's market for service. Maybe the only way to get good service out of Sterling is to broadcast commercials for them on MINI2 or Roadfly.

Welcome to the board stripper (is that your profession?)

Anybody gotten the squeaky seat thing fixed at MINI of Sterling yet? I've mentioned it to them when I was there last (admittedly it was a while ago), but they hadn't heard about it. Seat still squeaky

Whatever.

WOW>>> sounds just like MINI of Towson's service writers...aloof, unfriendly and unwilling / unable to discuss anything about service. I wonder if they treat all customers the same or just their MINI customers? Of course the sales people are nice!

I am really impressed (so far) with the service we get at MINI of Sterling. We fo to drool since our car is on the boat. They know us by name, maybe we go there way too often. They have even been closed and sat outside to talk to us about the car, stayed open late to talk about the car (we were also adding options), and are always friendly. i have also ead about dealers tacking on dealer prep fees etc when I asked John he said that because it is a special order it is whatever you ordered it to be but that they do add floormats, $95. Not bad considering some people are getting charged almost $200 for floor mats!

Question Sterling MINI is awesome

I've had very nice experiences with Sterling of Mini so far. I have put my deposit down on a MCS and expect delivery in the fall. I have a Miata so I don't mind the wait and one more summer with the skateboard.

Here are my questions. I ordered the accessory Madness Rallye lights which I think are coming from Mini-Madness. They have them on a red showroom MC.

I am more curious about what they sell as an "SX" package for $2,500. It includes a reprogrammed ECU, a cold air intake and a Borla exhaust. This seems very similar to the Mini-Madness stage 1 kit with the difference being the Borla exhaust. (I reference Mini-Madness as the source for this because of comments I have received on MCO forums). The net effect is an additional 30 hp at the wheel.

The dealership claims this is all covered under warranty. Does this sound right to you? I like more power. I love my warranty.

Hiya Tom Well, I'm not sure I can answer all of your questions. I do know that anything they (Christal) is offering as add-ons or upgrades ARE covered under warranty. And the $2500 sounds about right for all the parts and labor....

We recently upgraded to a Borla exhaust - courtesy of our accident on Christmas Eve The difference between the stock and the Borla was about $300 out of pocket so it was the perfect time to make the switch since the accident screwed up the exhaust anyway And we love it - it's not too loud - just enough of a Gurrrr to sound good

Sorry to hear about the accident. That's a horrible feeling for such a nice new car. I hope everything worked out ok. I think the $2,500 is a fair price. I can handle very moderate mechanical tasks. Basically, you're buying $1,600-$1,700 worth of equipment and paying the balance for labor and peace of mind with the warranty. As I said, I love the warranty.

Btw, how did you make out this winter? If I was going into a winter with the Mini I would have called tirerack and ordered a set of blizzaks.

Thumbs up

We swapped out our 17" runflats for 16" all seasons - what a difference!

Yeppers - the accident broke our hearts - but - it could have been a lot worse Scooter was in the shop exactly 1 month - and she is good as new
