| MINI2 Senior | WOW. Remarkably, Momentum MINI of Houston's manager, Greg Chapman, just called to apologize to me for the experience I've had with his dealership recently. He offered to let me place an order immediately for the car of my choice, without any mark-ups or required add-ons, in keeping with the offer his employees made me upon my original visit. I think that's an appropriate and professional response. Too, I hope that Momentum grows to be a better dealership from this experience, by honoring its word, and by recognizing that MINI buyers are a special breed, to be treated as something more than just consumers-- we're a community of friends with a common passion. I think other buyers won't abide by $3,400 add-on services for very long, and that Momentum may come to understand that it suffers for trying to make such demands of its prospective customers. It's tempting now to accept Mr. Chapman's offer, and to order my car, but I want to take some time to think on it. I will accept his apology today, and consider his offer for tomorrow-- figuratively. As tempted as I am, I need to also remember that MINI Center in San Antonio has treated me with tremendous warmth and respect from the very beginning-- a year prior to their official beginning-- and I should probably wait to repay their kindness with a purchase. Plus, there will apparently be some new options for colors and such in March. But today, I am gratified that Mr. Chapman says he has read our posts here, and reconsidered his position. It took some guts to call me, and to apologize, and I respect that. Peace, wynn Texan. Goofy. Sometimes witty. Pacifist. Imperfect, nice guy. Trying. |

| MINI2 Senior | COOPERation! OMG, what's your thing with snails?!!!!! I don't think anyone here knows that I have an obsession with SLUGS! I'm totally not kidding, either-- BruceK has seen my Texas license plates, which are: SLUGS. I have books about slugs all over the house! I have slug refrigerator magnets! Friends sent me slug boxers from UC Santa Cruz, where the mascot is a slug! I have posters of slugs that are almost erotic! And I adamantly, fervently oppose the consumption of escargot!!! My favorite slug is dolichophallus, which means "long penis," of course. Ironically, this breed is hermaphroditic, but the male genitalia is marvelously impressive. That is one hung slug. I once nearly had an accident when I was on the freeway, and was passed by the guy with Texas plates that say SNAILZ. There we were, SLUGS and SNAILZ, one behind another on Loop 610 West, and I was swerving all over the place trying to get my disposable camera out of the glove box to take a picture... You'd have been proud. Tell me about your thing for snails! WOW! wynn Texan. Goofy. Sometimes witty. Pacifist. Imperfect, nice guy. Trying. |

| ITS RAINNIN' SIDEWAYS | i still can't get my head around the fact that you guys in the states are pretty much obliged to pay for all these extras whether you want them or not. We may pay more but at least the pricing is transparent. So did you re-place your order Wyn? ![]() |

| MINI2 Senior | Re: Snails...Slugs...??? AAAAAA!!! Quit messing with my head! I've not ordered a car yet; I want to talk with MINI Center in San Antonio again first-- I'm working on that today. I'm grateful for Momentum's offer, though, and I'm just really relieved that the conflict is over. Texan. Goofy. Sometimes witty. Pacifist. Imperfect, nice guy. Trying. |
