Fully refundable deposit from official Mini dealers - yay or nay?

Hello all,

Question. My local dealer have just taken in the perfect cherished mini which I am interested in based on the photographs and spec.

They have been preparing it to go on the market and it's almost ready. It sounds perfect. It's likely that when this car goes up for sale it will be sold within days (that's not sales talk, that's reality).

Anyway because I work full time in London I am unable to get to the dealer to see the car until the weekend. They have rightly informed me that if someone comes in and wants to buy the car, they will sell it - which I understand.

They did say however that I could pay £600 to hold the car and pending approval if for whatever reason I am not happy with it the deposit is fully refundable.

Has anyone had experience of this - would you do this? Any backfires? Just to clarify this is a proper Mini dealer (would never dream of doing it anywhere else).

Opinions and experiences appreciated.

Thank you

I dont know how much the laws protect you in the UK buts its definately safe here on the tundra. Very common too in situations similiar as you describe. Good luck Princess and dont forget to come back and post your photos on the site!
