What do you do when there is only 1 dealership in the whole state ?

There is only 1 dealership in Oregon. I am a 1st time Mini potential buyer. When I called the dealer for price, I got the Mini has no discount, specially on the just released 2014 model hardtop, sorry it is going to be MSRP or bye bye, it is how Mini pricing works. BestI can do is if I get my manager to give is a $250 discount. I have never bought a car at MSRP, Japanese or German. Want to check with you guys to see:
1. Is it true that for a new car order (I understand cars already in lot might be a little more flexible), MSRP is it ? i.e. no discount.
2. What do other ppl do in an "only one dealer in your state" situation ?

If you're in the market for a 2014 MINI discounts will be rare if never. First few years of a new generation MINI commands list pricing if not list plus. The only discounts possible would be on 2013 2nd gens remaining on the lot. I would check with two MINI dealers in Seattle and see what they will do. Good luck. PS. Found this link that may answer some of your questions: http://www.northamericanmotoring.com...u-to-know.html

06 MCS PW/B, 15% pulley, JCW CAI, ALTA 22mm rear sway bar, DINAN front strut tower brace, custom air diverter plate, original owner.

Wow only one in your state, sorry to hear that! As far as deals go the Wife n I built our 2014 Countryman S All-4 on line ordered it through the dealer here in NJ and it will be here in a couple months from the Oxford plant. We ordered (which was not much at all) Automatic, Xenon lights and changed the inside color of the doors to lighten it up a little. The dealer threw in front and rear all weather floor mats. No Nav, Stereo or other bells and whistles, we just wanted the basics. The final price was great and nicely under 30'000. Im sure there is a charge in having it built vs taking one on the Lot. You do get just what you want though!

Instead of the discount idea remember the 3yr/30,000 mi deal is awesome. you wont do a damn thing, not even wipers. Our dealer has free car washes for life, so ya can have a coffee in the service area while ya wait. (not sure if that's all Mini dealers???) Aside from that see what you can get the dealer to throw in????? BUT.... Don't do that till your all done hacking out a price and don't be afraid to tell them your not happy with the price they have in front of you. The finance ppl will try to be tough, dont forget their there to serve you and without you they wont have a job. Make them work for it. If they won't move on the price keep asking for items to be thrown in IE... Rubber Floor Mats etc etc. Look online and see what U like for the car that does not come with it!!!!!! Best of luck, in the end if you do buy Mini I am sure you will be happy there so awesome from Fun to Drive, Quick, Great Brakes and Handling, Easy as hell to Park, Great MPG the list goes on!

United-States Sorry for all these posts..........

So busy here at work and tryin to keep lookin on Mini2 and I keep forgettin to write stuff.... All the items I mentioned to get to keep cost down, think if you really do need all the technology for the different packages. some of them are xpensive.
You do have to pick a package but for $875.00 I think it was, we got the COLD WEATHER PKG. Awesome heated seats, Heated mirrors and Washer fluid.

This is going back to when MINIs first came out, but I live in an area with five MINI dealerships within a half day's drive and when I bought mine MSRP was the cheapest price available, most of the dealerships were charging more. With the new model coming out a return to that sort of pricing may be the norm.
