| MINI2 Master | Are the waiting lists for Coopers shorter than for Ones? I ordered my One from Cotswold in late November and it won't be here until the 20th. ![]() The annoying thing is, I could really do with that car right now as I don't have anything to drive at the moment. I've also been pretty happy with Cotswold so far. I haven't heard anything bad about them on this forum. |

Offline | I went to Cotswold MINI and I to was impressed by the service given by Jennie and Andy ?, I was on the verge of ordering a new MCS when I found one locally secondhand for £15000, after viewing it I decided I would have that rather than wait circa 8 months. I now have a very large smile and a problem in my trousers when I drive it. LOL ![]() |

Offline | phew Glad to here that Cotswold Cheltenham are a good dealer. I have just moved up here for my new job but ordered my ONE from Ocean Plymouth who are excellent and was hoping I wouldn't have to drive back down just to get some decent service! Good thing is that MINI's aren't that common up here In Plymouth they are becoming all too familiar Only 58 Days to go, but I hope the guy in work doesn't catch me gawping at his MCS every day when I park up! |

Offline | ...Hmmm, not so sure. My experience and that of friends who have also used Cotswold is of a disappointing buying experience (e.g. delays, work not being carried out on time and diddly squat in the way of a thank you for buying) and difficulties over getting things put right at service. That may simply reflect how poorly big dealers treat customers, or maybe we have all just been unlucky... Having said that, we love the car. It goes well, handles well for a front wheel drive car and above all it's fun. The only problem is that my wife is reluctent to let me borrow it... Andy in Glos |

| MINI2 Master | Hmmm. So in the space of a month after buying my car from them, the concensus has changed from them being a superb dealership to an unprofessional and slack dealership. Before I bought my car, there was not a bad word said about them on this site. |

Offline | Wow, I never expected such mixed views on one subject. I got my Mini before Xmas and have had no troble from them. It was my first buy and I think Jennie and the dealer have made it a nice experience. Although my lack of experience and urge to buy the one I picked out from the front meant that I hardly got the price down. There were loads of people looking around and I didn't want anyone else to have MY Mini... But ever since they've done everything I've asked of them. I brought it back in twice to fix little things, actually they had to change the front shock absorbers once but it was all free of charge. I've only had to pay £45 so far for polishing a scratch out and replacing the front bonnet badge after someone tried to steal it!! Overall, I am happy with them. What are the problems that some of you have come up with them then?? |

Offline | In my experience a couple of unhappy customers can easily make more noise than a hundred happy ones... I would be inclined to give Jenny the benefit of the doubt.... Lets remember...if we make small mistakes in our jobs (which we all do) we don't have a worlwide forum to dig it up and blow it out of proportion..!! and broadcast it. I have been dealing with Gabb's at Cotswold, and its more like having a good friend at the end of the phone than someone who ultimately is making a sale out of you. Nothing but praise for this dealer...and if I have any glitches on the way I may feel inclined to forgive them for being human. ![]() Last edited by scooby : Jan 31st, 2004 at 04:31 PM. |

Offline | Doms right. I have only good things to say about Cotswold. My dealings have been mainly with Todd and the guys in the service dep. When I bought my first MINI in 2001I travelled around a few MINI dealers, and they came across the most professional of them all. They also offered me a great price for my Mondeo ST24 at the time, but I ended up selling it to a mate! They helped me out greatly when I came to rejecting my first MINI because of faults. They made the changeover from my first car to my new one as painless as possible in 2002, and it didn't cost me a penny! I had to have a new gearbox fitted to my present MINI (because reverse and first gears had gone!) and they negotiated to have the driving lights and bonnet stripes fitted for free from BMW/MINI. That’s around £300 fitted of parts! They lent me an "S" for a whole day's driving in Wales. They lent me a Works Cooper (that they had to get from another dealer for me, by the way) for a whole day when I was thinking of buying a Works kit. I was going to buy an aero-kit from them but I couldn't make my mind up whether I liked it or not, so the all-suffering Todd invited me down to have a look at a demo car they had just fitted one to. I decided against it. I told him that I might order a pair of "S" side skirts for my Cooper instead, as I thought they looked quite cool. On the Monday of the following week, Todd phoned me at work to say that they had a new "S" demo car they were fitting an Aero kit to, and if I want them, I can have the "S" side skirts off it for free!! I got a van from work at dinner time and I was down there like a shot! They even had a new set of clips in stock for fitting.Personally I have found Cotswold's to be very good so far. Dealers can't get it right all the time, and we shouldn't start slagging our dealers when they do a slight cock-up now and again. ![]() |
