Thumbs down to sytner Leicester!!!

As I live in Leicester I went to Sytner in Leicester. And to cut a long story short, When talking to them about finance etc as you do, you try and get the best deal possible and believe this or not the finance guy said to me, YOU ARE TRYING TO SPEND TESCO MONEY IN HARRODS !!!!!
As you can imagine i was not best to pleased. So I just got up walked out and placed my order with sytner in Nottingham.

so thats why I dont like sytner Leicester

Shame about that, because the MINI sales ladies are really nice there.

Sorry to hear that Dark Mini

When I spoke to Leicester about finance they were pretty good and even shifted significantly on the APR (but not enough to match Direct Line!).

I have found nothing but courteous, helpful staff at Sytner Leicester and the car has been back 4 times in 8 months for different problems so I have had plenty of dealings with them. The car may have a few niggly problems, but they are always sorted in the shortest possible times with the least hassle.

You must have caught the finance guy on a bad day!

geee, what a jackass.
good salesman tip number one: don't make the customer feel like he's a tit and unwelcome.

i can't beleive this. Their are loads of delearships around the east midlands. Why pay hard earned money to one that does not even have the basic decency to treat their customers with the respect they deserve.

Vote with your feet (and wallet). Good on you.

And just to make sure they know, i'd drop the manager a line at Sytner and tell him/her so. That salesperson seems to not deserve the position they have.

On the finance note, i had a great experience at my dealer. The guy i dealt with was so brutally honest abput all the options and never overselled any of them, in fact he was sitting there saying "quite honestly option x just ain't worth it". I was surprised. It's still sales and i was expecting Upsell! Upsell! Not the case.

But, when it came to finance, he wouldn't let go. (obviously where the forecourt salesmen make some fo their commision). I recently (luckily, but very sadly) came into some inheritance money and was considering buying outright, or just getting a personal loan from my bank. The MINI salesman offered my some stupid mid to high teens percentage APR (or even higher) and so i said to him, if i need finance, I'll have a hard time turning down the 8.9% APR personal loan from my bank.

He said "leave this with me for a day or two".

And, sure enough, within two days, he came back to me with an offer from BMW finance for 8.8% APR. I couldn't beleive it !! And i had nothing but respect from him. (and *for* him)

My whole experience of choosing and buying a MINI has been so *nice* (yes that is an appropriate adjective) it saddens me to hear of those for whom it is not.

I had a similar experience with my dealer. I felt the salesman was on my side, there to give me information and was not at all pushy.

I agree with Cheekygrin

I would drop Sytner Group Curstomer Services a line if you feel badly about your treatment Dark Mini. All I can say is that I haven't experienced this kind of treatment at Sytner Leicester, just plenty of the pleasant type.

On the APR issue, when I mentioned DirectLine to them they were happy to accept they couldn't match their rates and that I would be using an outside company to finance the car.

No hassle- no problem!

Went to Leicester Sytners to buy a new mini cooper. The girls were nice enough but they were not prepared to do any kind of deal with either the finance or the part ex. We went to Ryedale in Birmingham and they couldn't do enough for us. Excellent part ex and finance deal. All of the staff were on our side even matched my staff discount rate of 7.1% APR

I bought from Leicester Sytners and cant praise them enough, brought my car forward a month when my circumstances changed , changed the wheel boss after i found a big scratch on it on my 1st day (an expensive job for them as it means changing the airbag)and also changed a rear light lens that was getting condensation inside, all FOC and very courteously. A very good outfit for a car dealer, you should try Renault Leicester for cr@p service. Once i made an appointment for a service by telephone, got there and they had no knowledge of me, never phone when they say etc etc blah blah on and on
