How far away do you live from you Mini Dealer?

Hey all,

I want to get a new Mini but my dealership is about an hour away. If I have to drop it off for warrenty work and the like, it's going to prove difficult. I was just wondering to get some idea of the lengths that people travel to get to thier dealers

cheers, Stan

I have 400 miles of the north sea (12 hours on the boat )to get to my nearest dealer in Aberdeen. So it takes me 2 days and a substantial dent in the wallet to get any thing fixed or serviced.

I am three hours away. Warranty work (none needed yet) and maintenance takes a Saturday day trip.

Cool A Short Walk

It takes me about ten minutes to walk over to East Bay MINI. Depending on the time-of-day, its not much faster to drive over!

Closest dealer is Niello in Sacramento at 110 miles but I won't go there unless I asolutly must.

Next is Concord MINI at 225 miles; I have an appointment with them next Monday. They have been super on the telephone; understanding of my distance problems and are going out of their way to accomodate me.

4 1/2 hours to the closest

dealer in Tacoma. I was on a road trip and stopped at Mini of Murray in UT and recieved the absolute worst service I have ever experienced. They screwed up the oil change by forgetting the o-ring so when go to get in the car and start it up the oil pressure light was on (and stayed on). took them another 2 hours to fix it. To top it off, I was snubbed by every one there, including the parts guy as I was attempting to purchase some stuff. Guess I must not have looked the part, being scrufy from a couple of days on the road.

DO NOT GO THERE! They Stink!

Got one of the fastest coopers around! Number 212 production release (Canada)

When I first got my MINI 9 months ago it was more than 8 hours to the nearest dealer, then another dealer popped up in the middle of last year and they were only 6 hours distant.

Then four months ago a dealer opened just 3 hours away - which I was very thankful for at the time. But in the next several weeks a local dealer (only 15 minutes away ) will open. It keeps getting better and better.

Goodspeed, you may not end up as lucky as having a dealer just 15 minutes away, but an hour away is not really that bad either. Trust me (and lots of other MINI owners) owning a MINI is simply worth any minor inconveniences many times over.

I'm 75 miles away from MINI of SF, although the drive is a nice one when the commuters are elsewhere. I hadn't seen any MINIs up near me until a few days after I picked mine up, and dang, if it wasn't the exact same color and style as mine! So much for that feeling of individuality. Oh well, it still turns heads and even break-in is fun.

2 or 3 miles its really not that far i could walk it, which i was going to do but we was kinda late and the busses are crappy as hell but at least they are on time and very frequent. about a 10 min drive depending on traffic

Long live everything that fits in a mini.
