MSRP price in SoCal

Hello Everyone,

I'm a newbie here on this site. Just wondering if anyone know of a dealer here in southern California that is selling the Cooper at MSRP.

Thanks In Advance,

John

John,

I realize this is nowhere near SoCal, but - if you want one now at MSRP, and have a little time to enjoy a drive, or are willing to pay for shipment, MINI of the Hamptons , where I just picked mine up last Saturday, has a big selection of both MCS and Coopers at MSRP. Big color selection, most with Pkg, 1,2,3 and many with HK and leather.

Would cost a bit to ship to California, but would move you to the head of the line.

Regards,

Dave

Long Beach MINI should be charging MSRP- they have been from the get-go, so I don't why they should have changed.

I talk to Mike of Mini Of The Hamptons and he told me that the cost of ground transportation to go to CA is $895. Is it worth it?

Hi Long Beach Mini charges MSRP but you hav a 10 month to one year wait. All others charge a premimum. I took a trip to Memphis and stoped at Roadshow Mini they charge MSRP can get the car in four months but,you do have to pay the freight. the cost of that is between 800 and thiusand dollars. worth it to me. You would think that these SOCal dealers would get a clue. what I mean is Long Beach has the sales record for the west coast because they sell at MSRP. The other dealers should grasp this consept.

East Bay MINI in Pleasanton might contest this statement

$895 is about right. I took the fun way out and flew in for $180 and drove back. Got a bunch of my break-in miles on, and had a fun, fun, time. A little impractical for NYC to LA, but what the heck.

Car + additional shipping still cheaper than markups.

Unhappy

Thanks for all the input guys. But has anyone been to Assael Mini in Monrovia, CA? How's their price and service? It's too bad these dealers have to price gouge customers, but I guess it's just supply and demand for such a hot car. Well, I waited 3 yrs to get my Honda S2000 for MSRP so I guess I can wait for this car too.

brotherlouie, Assael Mini is bad news! from what I have read on this sight and from other sights and talking with others they price gouge and lie, and dont deliver what they promise steer clear of them.

My post wasn't made in reference to MSRP but rather to Long Beach MINI having the West Coast sales record. AFAIK, for the first year all dealers were getting equal allocations, so both dealers probably have equal sales.

Please note that my original post ended with a

One of the auto auction gurus once said "never pay a premium for a car in production". I have a MCS coming at list from the Chicago area - four month lead time. It might be worth a few bucks to buy close to home, but I am looking forward to the trip to pick it up. ROAD TRIP!!!!!! Can't wait.

Yah, but LB MINI has been buying cars that weren't selling from east coast dealers and selling those too, since their supply was so far behind demand.

msrp in so cal

That is true about Long Beach. The deal with buying from Long beach is yes you get MSRP, but understandably they tack on the freight ($795), and you might not get the mini you want and if you order its a loooooooooong wait. That is what I mean it is better to order from the east side of U.S.A. like Roadshow Mini in TN because, you get the exact car you want in a short time and if you do pay to have it shiped it is about the same as what Long Beach pays and tacks on.The other option is to go pick it up and drive back wich could be alot of fun. From what I've read on this web cite there is a handfull from So Cal going to the eastern U.S. for there Minis(ARE YOU LISTENING SO CAL DEALERS?!?!?!). for me I will have mine delivered because by the time I buy a plane ticket, time off work(no vacation time) food, GAS, hotel etc. When they do ship it they put it in a fully enclosed trailer.

Long Beach is a very cool dealership.

They didn't have to sell at MSRP given demand (nobody else around LA did) but they did

They have been very good about service too, This is a class outfit

I wish the other dealers around LA behaved the way Long Beach does. And I hope MINIUSA rewards them with extra allocation for being "good guys".

I think the wait at LB is now 12 months for an S, that's the bad news.

Have you read the other string I have going PART2-ATTENTION SO CAL FUTURE MINI OWNERS I FOUND A GREAT DEALER--IN MEMPHIS TN? I was very disapointed in Long Beach MINI. Very high schoolish and, thats not the only thing. When your dodging potato chip projectiles because they couldn't stop eating for five minuts that really taits the experience. The other L.A. dealers are nice and courteus. they took time to talk to you and acted human not, "you want to be put on the list? I guess I can do that." Plus the one year wait? No thanks! I'm hoping the two dealerships under construction in L.A. will put some pressure on the other dealerships to charge MSRP and give Long Beach a run for there money so they might have to actualy learn to be courteious and profesional and learn how to sell cars. All they are is order takers. I thinck the only thing they have going is that they charge at MSRP. If they didn't I think there sales would be low. Maybe thats why they do it.

SoCal Dealers

I live about 2 miles fron Assael In Monrovia. They stuck at $2500 over, so I walked. I did not appreciate the sales manager would not talk with me directly. Got the news everyone knows of at Long Beach, and got on their waiting list.

I then paid $20.00 or so for dealers to bid on the internet. Concord was low at $1400.00 over, and since my 240,000 mile '94 Mustang is finially starting to have things wear out [it has been an amazing low maintenance car], I wanted to get the Mini ASAP.

Made the deal in late March. Estimated production date is May 23. The internet sales person, Brandon Barrett, has been most helpful. Can't wait to pick it up and find I-5 to be a pleasant experience for a change when I drive it home.
