Offline | I just need to vent a bit. I dropped my MC off for service on Memorial Day as it was making a weird noise. I called first thing Tuesday morning to let them know that it was there. "We'll have someone call you later today after we've looked at it." By the end of the day I have to call them and leave a message. Someone calls me back and tells me that I need a new transmission. Luckily they have one there and I should get it back Thursday. Okay - I can deal with that. So now it's late in the day yesterday (Thursday), still no call. I call and again have to leave a message. I get a call back and they say that the new tranny is in, but the noise is still there and they have to call the Tech Line tomorrow to work it out and they'll call me in the afternoon. So today it's 3:45 and I haven't heard a thing. I call and AGAIN leave a message. I get a call back saying that they have to order a new motor assembly or something?! That won't be here till monday or so and I won't get my car till Wednesday or Thursday. They had to go through a local rental company to get me a loaner, which I have to leave work early to pick up. I don't mind all the work that is being done on the car as it's under warranty (so I'm being led to believe!) - the thing that bugs me is that they never follow through with their promise of calling me to let me know what's going on. It's great that they get back to me so soon when I leave a message, as I suppose there wouldn't be any work getting done to my car if they answered all the time, but if you know you have to order something like a whole new motor assembly, call me and tell me right after you've placed the order! I am just tired of having to find out what's going on. I expect more from a BMW dealership. My wife takes her Focus in to the shop and knows what's going on all the time with her car. BMW shops should at least recognize that their owners are passionate about what they drive and don't like to be away from the action without knowing what's up. Anyway - I just wanted to vent. Anyone else have similar problems? Do you think I should say something to the dealership? Adam |
