Unhappy Dealer Problems

One would think that with all the horror stories of bad customer service everone would get a clue. Evidently not. When last we left our hero, I had purchased (or so I thought) a Blk/Blk Cooper S for delivery in September. I checked back a couple of times during the week on the order. All the info I could get was "they kind of put them in a group and when they get enough they'll be put through (or something like that). I pointed out that I had placed a not inconsiderable amount on deposit and expected that the order could at least be placed by this Friday. So, I checked back again and found out that IT STILL HADN'T BEEN ORDERED!!!!!

(sorry...I'm back in control now)

So, I did all I could do. I canceled the order and, after checking with some other dealers, placed the same order with another dealer in the same town (heh, heh, heh). So I should have my purchase number on Monday...we shall see.

I wonder how long it will take to get my deposit back.....

Interesting: I placed my order, put a $1,000 down and had my production number before I left the dealership on April 5th. The order was entered the morning of April 7th, and it showed up on the MiniUSA site that evening with the status of "On Order" While you did not list the dealership that took your deposit and sat on it, I think it would be a great service to those who read this board looking for good dealers to buy from, if you would let us know what dealership this is that.

With pleasure:

The dealership in question is:

Global Imports Mini in Atlanta, Georgia.

Not sure what's going on with them.

Question Global Concern

Well, well.

Just when I think I'm all set to plunk down my deposit at Global, I spot this.

Do you mind if I ask who your sales rep was? I talked to one young lady there who could only be described as vacant, at best. Fortunately, she's not the one I usually talk to, but if it turns out to be some one I've dealt with, I'll certainly be sure to get more detailed info on the order process before I fork over any cash.

Thanks for posting this. It's a big help to have a "heads-up" like this.

Best,
DW

The sales rep was Tricia, but I'm not sure how much she was the problem. I got them impression that something was happening (or NOT, in my case) further up the line. I will say that she was fairly speedy about getting my deposit refunded.

Good luck, who ever you got with.

Does anyone have any feedback on Momentum Dealership in Houston, Texas? Also, service quality at Momentum?

It definitely shouldn't take that long. We put in our order over the phone (the dealership's almost three hours away, and that's the closest one, so it wasn't worth driving back up there again), just e-mailed our MA the MINI we "built" online and then called him, gave our cc number for the deposit. He called back a bit later to say that the order had been accepted at the factory & we got our invoice & production number, etc. in the mail two or three days later.

Yep, that's why I went with another dealer and handled almost everything over the phone, also. Now, just to handle all this waiting......

You know, that's exactly who I expected it would be.

I ran into her when I stopped by to get some clarification on a couple of questions I had, but my usual rep wasn't in. She's a cutie, but I got the impression she didn't really know much. Very offhand and unconcerned with the fact that she was basically unable to answer any of my questions. She shrugged and claimed it was only her 3rd week there, as if that was some sort of excuse. Not to by cynical, but (oh wait... I AM cynical) my guess is she's probably used to getting by on her looks.

Makes me glad I was approached by a different sale rep in the split seconds before Tricia walked up.

I've heard tons of praise for a Laurie, and my dealings with Diana Whitlock have been very pleasant. Poor Diana seemed let down that she wasn't mentioned on MINI2... so there you go, Diana! Now, try and figure out which one I am!

Overdrive, continued thanks for the more detailed heads-up. Sorry you had some bad luck at Global. Guess the sales-rep-luck-of-the-draw just wasn't with you.

Best,
DW

Interesting, that was what she said to me over three weeks ago...hmmm? I guess time travels much more slowly in Hotlanta.
