Thumbs up Barons of Farnborough

I thought I'd start this thread as there are a few negative comments about Barons and I's though I'd add my 2p worth.

On Monday I booked my car in to have the airbags reset (I've had my seats re-trimmed so the light was on). I also mentioned the power steering was quite noisy so asked them also to look at that. After taking the car out on Monday lunchtime the power steering was making a horrific noise, so I checked the fluid. No fluid at all. So I called Barons back who advised me to call Mini Emergency. They had a engineer with me within 35 mins of the call (excellent servce). He filled up the fluid and advised me to drive it directly to Barons to be fixed.

So here is where I think Barons did a great job. I arrived at about 5.45, where I was met by a customer service rep and the bloke I bought the car off also came over to say hello (remebering my name) - nice touch. I had a replacement car within 15 mins of arriving and was on my way.

Anyway the long and short of it is that the steering rack was leaking (fairly common I think). To me this sounds like a biggish job - but they got the part in and had it fixed, cleaned, hovered and airbag light re-set by 5.30 last night. How's that for service. The customer service rep was polite, friendly (and he was a BMW not a MINI bloke!!) and best of all there was no charge for re-setting the airbag (I'd been quote £40 plus VAT).

How about that - new steering rack fitted and car back to me in 48 hours and no charge for the work I should have paid for.

Nice one Barons
