| Trained Monkey | Well, as you can see from this post, that's rubbish, many dealers seem happy with their profit margins. I'd print out some great examples from this and take them with you. Milk it, and before they get your money. The tighter the dealer, the harder you should squeeze (in my opinion). ![]() Our trials and tribulations living in a "bleeding edge" eco house... Offline | Dealer Invoice (according to Kelley Blue Book) according to kbb.com dealer invoice for a cooper is 14,887 USD and a cooper S is 17,992 USD. this is plus options of course. this makes for about an 11% markup. |

Offline | I got pretty much sweet f a from my dealer. No flowers, no champagne. I had to leave in a hurry when I picked the car up, and he said he had a Mini umbrella for me and that he would drop it to my home some time (as the dealership is close by), but I will believe it when I see it! I got 2 Mini keyrings, one of which I have already given away (they dont even fit the key properly, as the plastic loop on the key is too small), and a full tank of petrol. To be honest though, I dont really care, I have my car now and that is all that really matters. All the best, Adam |

Offline | I see some of you got petrol. We got a voucher for 10 euros only! We drove out of the showroom and had to stop in the garage just 200 metres away and fill up. We handed in the voucher and that was that! We also got however was 800 euros off the total price...about 550 quid. we got a rucksack, a womans nightie, a big soft cuddly version of a mini, and a keyring with the mini logo. That was it! Maybe though the dealers here aren't so stingy! |

| Whatev. | I got half a tank of fuel and a bottle of wine. I also got a sweet but incredibly cheesy dancing introduction to all of the sales staff at the dealership, complete with those little popper things fully of exploding crepe paper being popped all over my car. ![]() |

Offline | I got nothing thrown in. I wish I had read this before picking the car up. The car was late so I was told I could have the mini cookoo clock which I love. That is worth £45 so i will put that down as my freebie. I can't believe some of the things you guys got. I think rubber mats, supaguard and free tlc are the most practical freebies though ! |

Offline | OK Just picked the new Cooper up today so it's time to update my list of freebies as I got a few more with the car!! As well as the above, got a big bunch of flowers for the missus, another 1/2 bottle of MINI champagne, a couple of natty little MINI key rings and an extra week's road tax so that I got the full 12 months. Overall I was pleased with Barons @ Farnborough both on Free Goodies and overall service. Now what excuse can I find to tell the misus that I need to go out for another drive!!!!!!!!!!! Offline | Picked up my MINI yesterday from East Bay MINI in Pleasanton, CA. What a GREAT car-buying experience! I highly recommend them. They spent at least 2 hours going over the car and manuals with me. As my MA (Matt Peterson) opened the trunk, I spied a cute MINI shopping bag. What a great surprise! I got: a cool MINI baseball hat, a MINI Mug, a miniature MINI model (that matched my car) and a full tank of gas! Very nice! |
