| Are we nearly there yet? | My MINI dealer is Arnold Kontz, in Luxembourg. So maybe a bit far for you to come for a freebie with your next MINI (and the steering wheel would probably be on the wrong side!) Anyway, here are the shoe-laces that arrived a couple of weeks ago - they are about 120cm/48 ins long each, and as you can see, they have been printed with the MINI logo (I guess it will fall off after a while). But if anyone wants them....... Ian |

Offline | Right... my collection was way back in March 2004, so it's taken me the better part of half an hour to properly remember what we actually got during pickup. Fortunately, I'm a complete nutcase for totally useless detail at special occasions - who knew it would actually come in handy one day? ![]() So... when I collected my car, in addition to the things you would normally expect (standard keyring, owners manual, etc...), I received the following complementary items:
Overall, I think I did fairly well. One thing I would have liked on top of all that would have been the cargo netting for the boot - I couldn't manage to swing that one too and eventually had to buy it.So as the cargo netting was £10.00, I figure the quantifiable perfection (and therefore quantifiable customer satisfaction/happiness) attained on delivery day is:Ah well... the thickness of a gnat's wing away from total perfection. lol£12,000.00 = 0.9992 or 99.92% ![]() All the best, Andrew. PS Oh, I had initially been promised Michelin tyres on the car - something that I had said was essential the day I made my deposit and ordered the build. However, they fitted Pirelli P3000E* on delivery day - citing that the Michelin tyre was not made for this particular wheel size at the time. Not being a mechanic, I didn't question it too much and I guess the Pirellis aren't the worst tyre in the world even if they're not the best. Consequently, the margin for error on the satisfaction/happiness calculation above is +/- 1.6%. ![]() NeuroBeaker - Proud owner of "Zeus" (a 'slightly modified' 2004 MINI ONE). *WARNING!* Thesis writing in progress. No flowers for the wife (the car is for her and she drove it away), no MINI goodies, no free fuel...nothing![]() The generous dealer in question was Stratstone MK (fomerly Victoria). ![]() Still, the car is everything we hoped for! ![]() |

Offline | I managed to get an extra £625 discounted off the total price cos they sent mine with a black roof instead of the blue roof that i requested. but i actully prefer the black roof now, so i got the better colour AND money off!! I also got a full tank of petrol, and 30 days after purchase i have to take my baby back for a quick check over to sort out any niggles it has (none as of yet) free of charge. and at the same time they valet it, and cos of the mix up with the roof colour i am getting another full tank of petrol!!! oh and i got keyrings. no flowers though. but i'm not into flowers so i'm glad. |

Offline | Hi All I am due to take delivery of my Brand New DS/B MCS on the 29th I have had no problems with my dealer and the deal has gone quite smoothly. So I do not think he is going to offer up any extra freebees without a little encouragement. When and how would you reccomend I negotiate this.... I would love a little RC mini but I doubt I'll get that.... Wayne |

Offline | Me too! Actually, I did get an extra set of car mats and and extra set of number plates (don't ask), but that was from the broker, not the MINI dealer. Oh, and I got some excess blobs of grease on the body and glue on the wheels which I didn't ask for either! |

Offline | Sounds like there's a fair amount of stingy dealers out there. I managed: 1 full tank of fuel (98 ron) 5 Keyrings. A picnic set. A hat A tube of sunscreen A drinks bottle. Plus all the usual manuals and stuff. I didn't do too bad compared to what some got ![]() Life's fun in black and white |
