I emailed to find out how much CF would charge to install rear fogs for me. They quoted me $250 plus parts. So I promptly emailed Crown MINI in Richmond, who quoted $170.

IMO, saving $70 makes driving to Richmond worthwhile.

Yeah, I'd agree with that, though you HAVE to drive to Richmond! That's just an extra bonus, though you're 30 miles closer than me, so I'd have a longer drive and more MINI time. I'll have to check out the rear fogs at the next event - I did the mod to turn the unused lights into extra brake lights.

Well, my main reason for wanting rear fogs is to get a fully populated toggle bank. Plus, I hear the rear fogs toggle switch has a cool orange LED on the stalk...

yikes $250+parts?! (and what was the parts estimate?)
sounds like they're trying to pay that new building off !!
what parts are req'd... does it require a new toggle bank?

Hey, and what about that fancy Checkered Flag Winner's Edge Card with the gold microchip thingy in it and the letter telling me how special I am and all the money I'm gonna save

That wasn't just promotional propaganda was it??

First Service

All,

I just had my 10K service (and CVT firmware updgrade) at the new MINI service adjoining Checkered Flag BMW. My appointment was 1030, but I dropped it at 0730 and picked up a loaner MINI. I was completely surprised when Frank Lindsay called me at 1015 and told me it was done!! The car was washed and everything went great.
This was my first service, but so far I have a good first impression of their service department.

They do seem to at least be trying to get better.
I was there Friday morning having my drivers seat looked at. The material is starting to split. Frank seemed as though he was going to try the "normal wear and tear" line and I was starting to clench He went and got the service manager ( Richard something, we've "had words" in the past).
I got the nod that they will be replacing the seat cover which is fine by me. Waiting to hear from Frank. Was going to do a write up upon completion but now you know the first part.
