I just recently purchased a 2002 mini from New Jersey and I live in Northern California. The dealer gave me an amazing deal and everything is in perfect condition. I got it used for just over $16,000 and it had 3,000 miles on it. The dealer was so excited to sell it to me and when I told him what they can be sold for he was shocked! He mentioned that if I knew anyone who wanted a deal he would be more than happy to get it for them. I am not sure if he knows of other used minis or if he is willing to order one and not mark it up.
