United-States MINI of SF service experiences: Good or BAD?

I have had my MINI for about a year now. I do believe this car has virtues and vices. It seems as though it was engineered brilliantly, but sourced badly, obviously to a budget. Thus, I don't know what the dealer service dept. can do to fix things like squeeky seats etc, but that said... is anybody happy with the service at MINI of SF, in California? I think they're learning on the job. I'm so frustrated, as the car has only 6,000 miles and visits to them are always long, slow, ineffective (frequent repeat visits to fix the same old thing, over and over), and they there's always the 'be sure to give us a good rating when our survey people call' threat. Ugg. I can't imagine living more than 3 miles from a dealer, given how often this car is in the shop.

Count your lucky stars that you have a choice. There is only one MINI dealer in Oregon. The next closest dealer is the one dealer in Washington. Neither of these dealers are an option if you happen to want to buy a MINI.

I started "shopping" for my 'S' in May of 2001. MINI of SF didn't seem interested in "giving me the time of day". East Bay MINI was the only dealer willing to commit to MSRP. They have treated me great from day one and will continue to get my business.

East Bay MINI offers shuttle service to and from BART if you have to leave your car for servicing. Sure you it costs you about $10 taking BART, but if you ever have to pay for labor, MINI of SF charges $20 more per hour.
