Mini of Mountain View--what's your opinion?

hi everyone--

only a couple weeks away from getting my new Mini from Mountain View and I have to say I'm a bit worried reading people's posts about the service dept there. But I'm also assuming that the majority of people posting will be people who had an especially extreme experience with them. So really, I' d like to hear how things have gone for people who have brought their Minis there for service. Hopefully some people have had good experiences with them, right? Thanks!

I have used them three times with positive results each time. Don't worry they seem to do a good job, and they wash the car after servicing.

mini mountain view service

Hi,

Quite a Christmas present, congrats on your new toy. Regarding Mini of Mountain View service, I've had my mini 16 months, and have given up on them. I won't go through the litany - summary is their track record is about 1/4 in clearing up minor problems. My quess is they have a business policy to make it more painful for you to take the car to them then not - simple economics, and you will never win. (several friends have same experience with BMW's - I found out too late that Allison is infamous). I wouldn't sweat it -- just go somewhere else if there are rattles or other small problems. The good news is that warranty service is hardly required: 10k, and then not for another 20k miles or so.

I'd just concentrate on the mantra "happy motoring". [

well, unfortunately I'm already getting a taste of their service department! Three days after getting my new Mini, I had to bring it back in (some weird problems with the ASC). That was Tuesday, and so far it'll be at lest monday before I get it back (they haven't even looked at the car yet!). This is NOT a good way to start things off!
