| Loving It! | credit cards Hi Mini lovers! Just a quick question. When I ordered my Cooper three weeks ago my dealer requested a £500 deposit which I paid via credit card. When I pay the remainder sum I want to pay using 3 different credit cards (one my own and 2 are my dads - obviously with his permission!) and a cheque made out for the remaining amount. Is this possible and are there any extra charges involved using these methods of payment (like credit card surcharges)? Thanks in advance ![]() . . : Atif : . . |

Offline | I would check with the dealer - a lot of dealers DO have surcharges for credit cards if you want to go over the £500 or £1000 level for a deposit. And some have maximum limits for credit card payment - wouldn't surprise me if these limits are only 4 or 5k as they get charged by the credit card company for accepting payment via the card. 260909 ![]() |

Offline | My dealer wanted to charge a 2% surcharge if I paid with CC to cover what the CC companies charge them! I paid with Switch and used 2 different cards no problem. Red/Black R56 Cooper |

Offline | They will charge you a surcharge for using credit cards - the dealer gets charged somewhere in the region of 2% by the c.c. company so they will pass that onto you - otherwise, to them, it's like giving a 2% discount on the car and as we all know.........they don't do discounts! |

Offline | I paid for the whole of my car on Credit Card without a problem - they didn't ask me in advance how I wanted to pay and so I just turned up with my card on the day and they didn't ask any questions. Like Grings, they didn't do anything to check who I was. The really weird thing is that 2 weeks later I was buying some new contact lenses and they wanted to speak to me because it was "an unusual purchase". £185000 on a car is normal but £40 on some contact lenses is unusual !? It's not how fast you go that matters BUT how you go fast. |

Offline | If you're allowed to pay by card then at least try and use a cashback card. ![]() There is just one moon and one golden sun; And a smile mean friendship to ev'ryone; Through the mountains divide, and the oceans are wide; It's a small world after all. |
