Offline | After Niello tried their best to ruin my buying experience I bought from MINI of Murray. I have now been to Concord MINI twice for warranty issues, the second time was the rear strut recall, and they are WONDERFUL. I recommend them highly and the extra drive right past Niello is worth it. I have, and plan on, avoiding Niello like the plague! 2003 Cooper: VR/W, Black Cloth & Interior, Cold Pak, MFSW, DSC & OBC Mod: Clear Lens 3rd Brake, Stubby Antenna, Cocomats, Clean Visors, Minilite Wheels, CNC Pedals, Custom LED Tail Lights, DaLan Hitch w/Whalen Engraved Hitch Cover |

Offline | More bad news about Niello (again): Even though I didn't purchase from Niello I decided to take it there for warranty work (see previous posts). The service advisor I had did a great job and has unfortunately been removed from the Mini side of the house to work with BMW's. Way back in January, a part was ordered for my car (A pillar on passenger side). It was on back order and I would occaisionally check on it's status. Well I let a few months go by and tried to follow up on the part. I spoke with the (sole) service advisor who had no clue about my part. She finally found it in the system and transferred me to the parts department, as she had no updates. The parts guy showed the part was just ordered in APRIL! I told him about it being on order since January and he said it must have automatically been re-ordered after such a long time on back order. He promised he would check with Mini USA and call me back. That was three weeks ago. Needless to say I'm getting the kind of service I expect out of Niello. They really don't care about customer satisfaction and I'll be contacting Mini USA again to re-start the complaint process. Any suggestions? '03 "S" DS/DS. NAV, Sport, Cold & Premium packages. Love it! |

Offline | Go to MINI of Concord. I have been to them twice now, the second time was for the rear strut bolt recall. They have provided GREAT service for me both times and I will continue to drive past Niello to get to them in the future. BTW A friend of mine here in Reno ORDERED a Cooper from Niello. So now, a year later they are taking orders for cars. Must be that they have gouged all the Sacramento people that they can with their "loaded car, buy what I got" policy. They are continuing the add on pricing however. 2003 Cooper: VR/W, Black Cloth & Interior, Cold Pak, MFSW, DSC & OBC Mod: Clear Lens 3rd Brake, Stubby Antenna, Cocomats, Clean Visors, Minilite Wheels, CNC Pedals, Custom LED Tail Lights, DaLan Hitch w/Whalen Engraved Hitch Cover |

Offline | I didn't know they changed their order olicy. I suppose they'll do whatever it takes to get customers. Of course they won't drop their mandatory "protection packages" until they start losing sales. As for Concord, I wish I could make the time to get there but I'm lazy! Yeah, I'm paying for it but I also enjoy reminding Mini USA of Niello's terrible service. Maybe I'll take the car to Concord for my first service. BTW, what strut bolt recall? I haven't heard of it. Were you notified by Mini or find out about it on MINI2? Does it affect both models? Thanks for your response edlfrey '03 "S" DS/DS. NAV, Sport, Cold & Premium packages. Love it! |

| MINI2 Newbie | Call any MINI service department and ask them to run a "vehicle history" on your car. From that they can tell of any open campaigns on your car (including the lower strut bolt campaign). Give them the last 7 digits of the VIN and they can run it. |

Offline | Thanks gt4pete (and edlfrey for the PM) I found out my car wasn't affected by the strut recall. I'm in the process of getting my A-Pillar cover fiasco straightened out and will have the dealer check for open campaigns when it's replaced. Thanks for the advice '03 "S" DS/DS. Offline | Re: NIELLO = bad business I'm not going to argue with you about anything that you have said and completly agree that Niello = bad business. I was only reporting what my friend told me. He said "I ordered my car today from Niello and will be getting it sometime in July." I specificaly asked him if he ordered what he had sent to me as his MINIUSA web site Build and he said yes. I am going to check with him once more tomorrow since you are so adamant about them NOT taking orders - he, or I, must be confused. ![]() 2003 Cooper: VR/W, Black Cloth & Interior, Cold Pak, MFSW, DSC & OBC Mod: Clear Lens 3rd Brake, Stubby Antenna, Cocomats, Clean Visors, Minilite Wheels, CNC Pedals, Custom LED Tail Lights, DaLan Hitch w/Whalen Engraved Hitch Cover |

Offline | The "custom" order is to see what will be available down the pipeline of what Neillo has ordered and put your name on the car of your choice. This way you don't just choose from what is in stock. Big deal. Concord is about a half hour closer than Portland, OR for my service, but Oregon has no sales tax. But the Concord sales girls are really cute. But I can get on the dyno in Portland. Decisions, decisions.... Cooper S Red/White/White, Air, Computer, Cloth, DSC, Cold Weather. August build. |

Offline | Go for Oregon...better scenery, cleaner air and no traffic compared to Concord! At least everyone seems to agree on bypassing Niello. '03 "S" DS/DS. NAV, Sport, Cold & Premium packages. Love it! |

Offline | Wouldn't you want the option of getting the car sooner if a dealer has one coming in that is not sold? I know I would! That's all niello's doing. If there isn't one coming in that fit's your spacific wants, they order one for you. It's as simple as that. They'll sit down with you, see what they have coming in and if nothing fits what you looking for they build one with you and order it. Pretty cool I thought. I know what your all going to say next-"but their gougers, they have a mark up". that is a matter of opinion I guess. |

Offline | Leaving aside the price issue for the moment, that was not Niello's original ordering policy. Unlike some other dealers in our area it was very much a take it or leave it approach for whatever was coming in. And I noticed that a large proportion of those cars coming in were heavily loaded - meaning few lower priced cars. Perhaps these policies have changed, but it wasn't a good start for many of us. |

Offline | I ordered my Mini from the Concord dealership yesterday..Marian was my sales person and she was very nice and made the experience enjoyable. They charge a $925 mark up on the Cooper, but I was going to pay more then that to have it shipped. My Mini will be in production mid July and I should have it by mid September..so I'm happy..and trying to be patient:-) I checked with a lot of dealerships before going to Concord, but at least at the moment I''m glad I went there. I heard way to many negatives about Niello so I skipped them.. MINI is a way of life! |

Offline | Congrats brave1... you made the right choice by avoiding Niello. I'm sure Concord will live up to your expectations. Despite what Sasa would like everyone to believe, Niello is a price gouging monster that has only recently relaxed their ordering policy. If Sasa were to check out the first one or two pages of this thread they'd see how horribly Niello treated their potential customers. Poor information from their initial Mini contact (Demi Lemarquand), a "waiting list" that turned into a contact list to kick off their overpriced feeding frenzy and a disregard for anyone who had a complaint regarding their policies. It seems that only now, months after the initial "gotta have the first one on my block" mentality has dissipated that Niello realizes they can't keep screwing customers over. They only hope to gloss over their past indiscretions and hope future buyers don't check Mini2 for the ACCURATE "customer satisfaction ratings". '03 "S" DS/DS. NAV, Sport, Cold & Premium packages.
