United-States Need some advice on my Dealer

I've run into a little problem concerning my car. I ordered it back in December, I gave the dealer my $1,000.00 deposit, and I have already made flight reseverations to pick it up this coming Wednesday, February 18. I have arranged to take time off of work and am taking my son out of school so he can come with me on this joyous occasion.

The problem is that when I viewed my Dealer's website today, MY MINI (MATCHING VIN FROM ALREADY SIGNED PAPERWORK) was on their website inventory!!! There was no indication that it was sold or on reservation, it was listed as current stock.

It is my understanding that once you put down the deposit, they are legally bound to sell you that car. Is this too much to ask? Or am I wrong? We agreed on the price before the deposit was given or the car was ordered and now we are having miscommunications between us and the dealer concerning the price.

Could anyone out there give us some ideas on how to address this issue, because when we arrive in Baton Rouge, LA this Wednesday to take our car home and there is a problem, I have no problem leaving it there.

Some US dealers list all cars in inventory on their websites, sold or not. I am sure you are fine and the bonding trip home will be a joy. In a month this will just be something to have smiled over.

Good luck....

Thanks for the reassurance Bear, I've never purchased a car from out of state before sight unseen, nor have I spent this much money on a car. I am so looking foward to picking up the newest addition to our family, and simply want to make this transaction as smooth as possible. Thanks again and I'll be sure to let you know how it went.

The online sites could easily be automatically created, so I agree with what other have said, it may be nothing. Just give them a call and see what's up, no sense worrying if you don't have to.

Best of luck with it going smooth, but many people have bought of out state in similar situations, so luck is definetly on your side.

I live in Houston, am a member of the Houston Mini Club, and know several who have purchased their MINI's in Baton Rouge. Ive heard no complaints about the BR dealership. If you are that concerned, call the dealership. Its probably a procedural thing. Remember, until you actually pay for the MINI via a check from your bank, credit union, pay cash, etc., it is still legally theirs. In Houston, at Momentum, some folks have ordered the car and when it came in were unable for whatever reason to actually buy it, I know someone who got one by just walking into the showroom to look at them and walked away with a new MINI Cooper S without having to wait having been there at the right place and the right time. United-States Dealership Fedback for Brian Harris Mini

O.K. so maybe I over reacted just a little, I do appreciate all the feedback from all of you out there, and our new family addition is now posing in our garage.
I always told my wife that she would never have to worry about me having an affair on her, but I stand corrected for my mistress now waits for me just 20 feet away. After our 1300 mile adventure back home, I am truly assured that this has been the best purchase I have ever made in vechicles. My 15 year old son was with me and it was one of the best times we have ever had. Brian Harris Mini are wonderful to work with, Lance, Roger, and Ricky, are great at what they do, and my wife and I are already considering another purchase sometime this coming August. After all, one is not enough! ps -- her's
