Thumbs up Sytner Chigwell

Well done Sytner for replacing my steering column to stop the knock.

They aree helpful even if you do have that certain BMW arrogance (the receptionists and the service front guys)... why do they have to look down their noses at us???

I must say the technicians are realy nice guys though if you ever get to talk to them....

Bad points

Last week they replaced power steering pump unnecessarily after they had examined the car and agreed with me that it was a column fault... a wasted day and expense!

Today they replaced the steering column and gave me the car back with the steering wheel not on straight...
Although to be fair they took the car back into the workshop and sorted it right away...

I wish you could wander into the workshop and talk to the guys who work on your car like you can in Skoda dealerships...... This way is wrong.... people like to talk to the guy who is actually working on the car not a shirt and tie!

Hope BMW and Sytner are reading this!!!

Know what you mean about some of the sales/ receptionists most ive come across are friendly helpful and listen to you - help you out etc - but some are a bit " I know everything you know nothing shut up and listen to me kind of attitude" which makes me think ok fair enough ill go to a dealer that treats me like a human being. A couple of yrs ago for some reason I was looking at z3 bmw's and the sales guy looked at me as if to say I was a dreamer and I couuldnt afford one of these cars v patronising etc throwing paper at his collegue looking at me to laugh with him when all i could think was what a ______ suprisingly I have never been back there. I use 2 dealerships Scotthall -Leeds been excellent so far with servicing fixing probs etc and Lloyds in Carlisle who are soon to be supplying my second Mini - excellent communication and always on the ball with extras I require or paper work etc

I really don't know what is up with BMW dealers.... they are there to offer customer service! If I behaved like they did in my NHS job I think I would have been on performance management a long time ago. There seems to be a belief that this type of London (maybe elsewhere too) estate agent behaviour is accepatable. Well it isn't.

We want real customer service.

Like I said before, I don't want some slimy, smarmy Essex boy (I'm an Essex boy too, so don't take offence!) in a suit who thinks he has made it, looking down his nose at me and calling me Sir or Mr X....

I used to own a Skoda Fabia which was a brilliantly reliable but boring car and all the sales guys knew me by first name.... they didn't wear suits etc. It was a much more personal service!

I do not want to be served by a David Beckham lookalike with the attitude to match.

This happened to me too and they scratched the silver bits of the wheel No attention to detail, how can anyone work on the steering and then not check it out afterwards

Even worse my car arrived from the factory with the wheel well squint and they didn't spot it at pre-delivery inspection either

How annoying is a squint steering wheel . Mine was at ten to four, rather than quarter to three.
The service advisor asked me was it badly out, my response:
"Bad enough to be annoying"
ie SORT IT OUT

I've recently moved from another dealer and am MINI Sales Executive at Sytner in Gerrards Cross. I know what you mean about "BMW"ism and it racks me off too! Drop me a line if and when you're looking to replace your car and I'll see what I can do...

All the best

Minidoug,
Sytner at Harold Wood were great when I bought my MCS, I dealt with Sarah in the Mini section. They are on the A12 about 2 miles from Junc 28 M25.
