i drove down from the lehigh valley to test drive the MINIs. alex, amos, the owner (i forget his name - the guy always wearing a nice suit?) and the owner's son were nothing but extremely friendly and interested in showing me the car and letting me take it out for a spin on multiple occasions. (even an impromptu test drive at a few minutes before closing, when there wasn't really anyone around to go with me)

so, i placed my order yesterday (apr 3) for this MINI:

blue body, black roof
DSC
xenon headlamps, foglamps
rear spoiler
black interior cloth with black accents
sport seats

after talking to them a few times in the dealership, i spec'd out my MINI on the web and faxed them the printout and followed up with a phone call to make the deposit. amos has loosely given me a delivery date of june and told me to expect an order confirmation via snail mail soon.

what i would really like is an exact list of specs as they've ordered it, so i don't sit here for months and end up with an incorrectly ordered MINI. =) hopefully that is what comes via snail mail.

can't wait!

Drove by the dealership today. Not as many MINIs there so I guess the have sold a bunch. One red one remained outside.

Oh - and there was a Channel 10 News car parked out front. Maybe something will be on the news about the MINI tonight?

the channel 10 news van was also there at monday night at around 8pm. i never saw them film anything, though.

Don Rosen called this week to confirm my specs before they put in the order. They told me that they would have a VIN.# for me in about three weeks. The car is to have a May build date and a late June early July dilivery date.

Last thursday I had an hour to kill before a BMW CCA meet, so I went in Don Rosen to drive the Cooper S. I LOVE IT! I met amos as soon as I walked in. Told him he is famous on this board. He took me on my test drive. We got to talking about the business and he told me that they were looking for a salesman. I've been offered by Otto's to work for them once their dealership opens, but they may never happen at this point! So I talked with Alex about a job there. He said they are looking for a car guy! Hmm, that's me! Both him and Amos are pretty cool guys. I would love to work there. I gave Alex my resume to review. I plan to call him monday or tuesday to follow up! It's not a ton of money, but it would be a ton of fun! Wish me luck!

i just talked to Amos about my new (as of last wednesday) MINI order. he already had the order sheets and was able to fax them to me, so, i have my production # and have logged into the owner's lounge. you can verify the options on the car and some other basic stuff. it looks like they're going to build more into it in the future...

Sorry, I should have posted yesterday. The meeting was postponed until tonight. I was bummed because I was very excited to get in there. I drove past the dealership on my way home from the gym, it must have been around 8pm. There were a bunch of younger customers in there standing around talking...cars I guess. I was so jelous that I am not in there yet. I am so tired of my job and most of the people I work with (this includes my Mother, my bosses mother, a 76 year old secratery who doesn't know what to do when her computer says "click ok to continue"). I need to get into a job where I enjoy the product.
The interview is 7pm tonight. Keep your fingers crossed one more day!
