I have 34Kish miles or so...they really slowed down when I moved to Center City and take the train to work..

Most MINI parts are a day or two out in the distribution channel. I'd give them the heads-up to order it when you make the appt.

Same deal on mileage with me. Now that I take the train to work, the MINI is driven a lot less. I now have just 16K or 17K on my MCS! The miles will jump back up this summer for trips to the shore though, as well as for a run to Pittsburgh for the Vintage GP out there.

Q. I understand the MINI owners do not have to pay for the oil change in the first 3 years. what about the inspection? do they have to do the inspection at the MINI dealers? if they do, that is free also in the first 3 years?

The scheduled visits are free, you do have to pay for state inspections, and they do NOT have to be done at the dealer. If you happen to have your car in the shop around the time that it needs to be inspected, I'd personally just have the dealer do it. Just my .02 cents
Happy motoring!

In California maybe! ;-) I'm pretty sure that's not the going rate around here but who knows. The cost of inspection is fixed by the State of PA I believe. I'd guess it takes a 1/2 hour or so.

I'll find out next week when my '02 MCS goes in for an inspection, the yo-yo throttle ECU update, and a broken horn. For some odd reason I've only got 14,000 miles on the car over 2 years which is the least I have driven a car in my life over 2 years. It's extra strange since the Mini is the most fun car I've owned. (I take the train to work daily though - so no more commuting miles.)

Question Advice re. tires

What to do with OE set of tires/wheels? It's difficult to find a local market. They're too expensive to ship. Dealers charge alot if you're buying but don't need to purchase mine.
They're taking up room in my garage. I advertised in the marketplace but most lookers are from the United Kingdom!
Ideas?
What other cars do the 15" wheels and tires fit? Any?
Thanks, Joyce

Does Mini of Main Line offer loaners when having your car serviced?

That was the deal breaker for me before. The car was in the shop every few weeks, and it was my only car. Therefore at Don Rosen, I had to rent a car, which added up very quickly. I the under a year that we owned it, I think I racked up like $600 in rental fees. >

Glad to hear the service got better. IF they offer loaners, I may reconsider MINI.

You could always try eBay. Another thought is that winter is coming and someone may start looking for wheels to mount snow tires on when it starts to get colder. If you don't have a dedicated set of snow tires & wheels you may want to keep your old OEM wheels.

Still here and still motoring! ;-)

Amazingly, since I now take the train to work, my MCS has under 25,000 miles on it!

I’m attempting to jumpstart this post. I'm going in for an oil change, although they always complain about my oil changes. The last scheduled maintenance put my next oil change over 15,000 miles. I refuse to wait that long, 10,000 is stretching it. I will make an appointment over 7,000.

Any others experience the oil change refusal?
Also, fellow CVTer's any complaints over 30,000 miles? I wondering if I should go for the extended warrenty.

You can make the appointment, but MINI won't pay for it unless the car says it needs it. You won't get refused service, you just will have to pay for the oil change out of pocket.

Right then. Good Show. Carry On.

4 and a half years and 3 owners later and we're still here Motoring!
As of last week we are now owned by a new company and things are great! We couldn't be happier! We are still MINI of the Main Line and for the most part we are still the same sales team! So stop on in and say hello!

Right then. Good Show. Carry On.

Thumbs up Great things to come!

As stated above, we are under new ownership, (again). I think everybody will be pleased with the outcome of this ownership. Once we get on our feet again we will be a force to be reconed with... I dare you to come by and check us out! Fun for all ages
