Question

Just got my est. production date = June 21. A little strange, considering that I specced mine a week before jlivingood and his est. date is two weeks before mine. It must be more complicated than just order date to determine the production date - maybe color choice and/or options enter into it.

Steve, I drove your car this moning!

From the back lot to the front lot. I believe Mark called you today. Not sure why the deal went to him after we had already met and gone over things. I guess it's because I was at training the past two days. Anyway, see you soon.

Yea - Mark called me - I never expected it to be delivered that soon. I have to make arrangements to pick up my (Don Rosen's) check from my CU - and figure out when and how to get down there this week.

Unfortunately, it may not be until Friday anyway - work conflicts, etc, before then.

Question sdmidget....

sdmidget, congrats on your MINI arriving.

how did you know which boat it was on?
does the MINI owner's site reveal that info?

By the way,

your car is the first one we have seen with cloth. It is much more comfortable then the others.

Oh no - you cursed me! My estimated production date just changed to June 21 as well!

Oh well...

Work conflict!? You must be with your MINI asap - if not for you then for the wellbeing of the country! BESIDES, I think you are coming down with a "pretty bad cold." You might do better to "stay home and rest" on Monday or Tuesday! Your doctor prescribes a visit to Bala Cynwyd...

Congrats! Can't wait to read all about it!

Waiting until Friday hazardous

I have to agree with Jason, sdmidget, waiting until Friday will be detrimental. I've been driving around with a big grin on my face all week since I picked up my MINI and putting that off will clearly be hazardous to your health.

Plus, I tend to hang out at the Starbucks next to Don Rosen and have seen at least one person getting fingerprints on your car while peering enviously through the window.

So, better hurry.

Have Fun.

Doh!

Just what I needed - people hyped-up on caffeine fondling my car before I can

It's official - won't pick it up 'til Friday (gives a new meaning to T.G.I.F.)

Tony/Mark/Alex @ Don Rosen: make sure to clean all the fingerprints and assorted "drool" off my car before Friday AM

Talking It's MINE!!!

Picked up BRidGet this morning (survived Amtrak and Septa to get there). Mark did an excellent job of "delivering" the car to me (he learned some new things in the process, too ). Loaded up the 6-disk changer and headed for office/home. Didn't take the real scenic route - but I've added 100+ miles to the 4 that was on the odometer when I left.

Couple of observations:

- The car is solid
- The standard sound system is more than enough for me - love the remote controls on the MFSW.
- The brakes work (compared to an MG or a minivan)
- Love the color
- White alloys = major brake dust!!

SECOND CHILDHOOD HAS BEGUN!!!

One Question???

Did Tony ever decide on a color???

Cool Sounds like you had a good day

What are you doing inside on the computer? My mind was made up for me. I ended up going with Liquid Yellow Cooper S with a black roof. All options. Not sure when it will go into production. I can't wait to get it.

I should have mine by the end of june the begining of July.

When are the rest of you who dont have their cars getting yours?

Has anybody else close to 70 on the S list been called, yet? Amos had told me I'd likely be contacted this past week to spec my car, but that didn't happen. I'll be calling on Monday, but don't want to be a pest if it's just taking a while to get through the list.

I'm thinking late July, given a production date (estimated) of June 21.

Congrats! Love the pics in your gallery - BRG is great. It's interesting though that pictures don't really capture the depth of the color - looks even better in person.

As for your brake dust problem you will likely notice it throwing off more dust than normal as the rotors and pads bed in. Also, I might recommend washing the wheels and then applying a car wax or polish to the wheels. I did this on my cars and find it *much* easier to wash off brake dust now and also that not as much brake dust sticks to the wheels in the first place.

Enjoy!!

Question VINs

hey everyone who knows your VIN, what does it start with?

mine starts with "WMW", which means country of origin germany, i thought. i thought the MINIs were being made in britain?

it's a cooper, not a cooper S.
