| Rugbyref | I am on the waiting list for Otto's in West Chester PA since last Sept, 18 miles from DE, the dealership is not open and will not until the end of the year, I have tried to put my name and a deposit on Towsons list but just got a call back saying that the closet dealer is Ottos and they cannot take a deposit from me. Now what happens if Ottos never opens. I see from this forum that several of you are on lists at different dealers. Is this a MINIUSA policy? |

| MINI2 Master | To my knowledge, there is no official prohibition from MINIUSA. Try Don Rosen in Bala Cynwyd (Philly - off Route 1). Also check out the Don Rosen thread in the Feedback Forum. 2002 BRG/W [BRidGet] traded in on 2005 Jet Black/White/White Cooper [?name?] 2005 #1 wrecked by SUV on 6/03/05 2005 Jet Black/White/White Cooper (2005 #2) [?name?] picked up on 6/24/05 |

Offline | Re: MINI dealer coverage It is not MINIUSA's doing at all. In fact, for Texans currently without any dealers, the miniusa.com site encourages us to motor hundreds of miles to the nearest dealer to obtain a MINI - it clearly means go out of state and find a dealer you like. So, it is the dealer being territorial, probably because they want the service business on MINIs they sell (instead of you going to the closer dealer when it opens) and they want the future repeat buyer business as well. If true, it may be some bad assumptions on their part, because if they treat you right, you may very well make the extra effort to continue doing business with them even if it is not as convenient as another dealer. + 2002 MINI Cooper S - Dark Silver / White roof, Sport, Premium, Lapis blue leather + 1965 Mini Traveller - Tartan Red / White roof, 1275, Cooper S discs, fully restored/renewed |
