Offline | Inept Maintenance Personnel I have had to take my MINI in 5 times so far for the same problem. My airbag light came on one fine afternoon, and would only go out after I connected the passenger seatbelt. All they have ever done is reset the computer. One time they messed up the programming the computer and my mileage sunk from 29mpg to 25mpg. They are going to attempt to fix it again at the end of the month, but I am not holding my breath anymore. I have spent many hours in the showroom area, a minimum of 3 per visit, and never received a loaner/rental. I sit or get dirty looks if I wander around the dealership to pass the time. I love my MINI, but I hope my BMW problems are related more to Italy than the company. If this is the way I am going to be treated when I get back to the States, I am going to be disappointed. Does anyone else receive this kind of service? I'd be lost if I had somewhere to be! |

| "Just Like That!" | Hi Joe, Yes! You can get similar service at Specialist Cars in Luton, UK...which is why I take my car elsewhere! Sorry to hear that you are experiencing troubles, but not all Dealers are the same. Perhaps somebody could recommend a good one for your area. ![]() UJ Club: GB064 |

| Trained Monkey | They probably just need to replace part of the wiring under the seat, that's the usual cure. The new part is longer and less likely to unclip. Our trials and tribulations living in a "bleeding edge" eco house... Oxley Woods Living |

Offline | There are two BMW/MINI dealers in town, and neither one seems to be great. The second dealer I am taking it to is the one that is having problems with the light, but I had problems with the first one. My bonnet scoop fell off almost with less than 5000 miles, and after much argument, was replaced free of cost. One year later, I notice that they over-torqued the nut and broke the replacement. I had to fight again to get it replaced. They said that since it was an exterior part, it was not covered. It is fixed now, and I am ready to forget about my warranty. I'd be lost if I had somewhere to be! |
