Below is a response to an e-mail I placed to Brian Harris BMW yesterday. They were given word officialy monday by BMW USA. As of this morning there were 70 nams on the list for an S. The deposit he mentions is for $1000 which seems to be the standard. Congrats to all those in the Red Stick on your newest dealership.

DEPOSITS ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED FOR PLACEMENT ON OUR ORDER LIST.

WE EXPECT DELIVERY OF OUR FIRST MINI'S IN JULY OR AUGUST '02. PLEASE CALL OR E-MAIL IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PROCEED FURTHER WITH AN ORDER.

I'd like to think I speak for many Texans when I say: YAHOOO!!!!!!

Finally, a MINI dealer closer to Texas!!!!

(no I'm not intending to be sarcastic

, I'm actually serious as now my nearest dealer is only 480 miles away vs. 632 (Memphis)).

Anyway, that is great news!

I was on the list at Peake since July 2001. I am on another much longer list now. I'll be excited about the Baton Rouge dealer if MINI USA does the right thing and helps us suckers out!!!

I understand the feeling. I was on the list at PEAKE on March 2nd of 2001. Deposit sent in last June. March 1st I started scambling to get my name on another list. I have put my name in at St.Louis and my car is actually suppossed to be built today!!!!!! St.Louis has been very nice (as oppossed to the business practices at PEAKE). Hopefully I will actually get my car sometime near the end of May.
