Offline | Bad services experiences at dealership.... Hi all, I am fuming at the services I received at my MINI dealership. BMW often emphasizes that MINI is part of BMW quality, but there is a big difference in services between the two that I found. They treat BMW owners like kings and queens, and MINI owners like dirt. I brought me Cooper in because they installed the rally lights wrong (first bad service). I had to call a few times to arrange for the appointment and the loaner car. Then when I got there, nothing was set up and they finally rented me a van from an outside rental company. What was that about? Moreover, I have never seen a smile on anyone working there Over the BMW side, everyone is so nice and happy. 1703 |

Offline | Im sure it is part of the BMW quality. My MINI dealer for example, has been fantastic. Great people, great service. They were very patient when I was considering my order, and are continuing to follow up even now that I have picked up the car. I rang today for a warranty issue regarding a faulty CD headunit, they had me booked in first thing Monday morning within about 10 minutes. Already offered me a replacement loaner (330 or Cooper) for the day. What Im trying to say is its dealer dependant. Some are just bad, while others are brilliant. Is there another around your area that you can go to? Perhaps a change is worthwhile, if its possible. - Global Moderator - MY BLOG - Global Procrastinator - ![]() ... | MINI2 Master | You will have better luck with a MINI-only dealer. I noticed the same attitude at al the BMW/MINI dealers I visited. See if there's another one, it might be worth the extra drive. But hey at least you get a loaner, my dealer is great but no loaners. That's OK I'd rather have stuff done right! |

Offline | Try another Dealer It's all in the dealer...I went to one in Los Angeles and almost decided not to by a MINI at all. Attitude all the way! A new dealer has sprung up recently in Los Angeles, and that's the one I go to now... much nicer people, way more professional and helpful, and no college dropout smart alecs to deal with. |

Offline | i took my dark gray 2004 MCS in. had to get the whole transmission replaced.so they had to keep the car. offered me a replacement mini rental. it was ungly solid gold with 15 inch rims. i told them i had a wedding to go to and did not want to show up in this ugly car. then asked for a 3 series loaner. they turned their nose up at me and said NO. other than that they have been great. great with warrenty work. great with getting appointments. and for the most part very friendly. |

Offline | Hey Josh, Our favorite dealer gets almost no complaints except for the loaner issue. What say we start a VERY polite campaign with our pals, especially now that they have some non-MINIs on the lot. Bring your MINI in, drive off in an F-350 for the day! Lawdy, Lawdy, the Cross I bear. |

| heading north !!!! | our local dealer is PANTS!!!! (TAYLORS BMW BOSTON LINCOLNSHIRE) We didn't get the mini from them as we got it from another dealer without having to wait (which is understandable!). However we have taken it to them for servicing etc. All we get is bad attitude, it has been back to the dealer 14 times (the mini is 10 months old!), most of those occasions have been for the same problem which they have not sorted. When we took it in because we noticed an unusual noise, we were told we were imagining things by the service manager and the mechanic, so we phoned mini from the dealer and they told the service manager to book us in for when the area technical guy came to visit the dealer. The service manager didn't bother telling us when that was, we only found out because another mini owner told us (as he had to take his in as well). The technical guy noticed the noise straight away and told them what to do about it. They are just crap, i can't tell you all of the other stuff as it would take all night! We have decided that no way is the new MCS going to that dealer for ANYTHING, we would rather travel 40 miles to another one! ![]() Global motivator ![]() Last edited by Fevs : Jun 29th, 2004 at 01:19 PM. |
