Offline | Prestons, Colne THUMBS UP!!! Wow what can I say ![]() My car has been in for second service, some warranty work, and body work. Ok so it was a day late coming back to me, but hey I had a courtesy car, so nice to have a MINI instead of polo or micra like I got when I used Rydale ![]() Anyway I have to say yes the work has been carried out to a great standard, but the thing that has impressed me is the staff, the service, Tony this evening when I went to pick up my car was fantastic. They actually realise in this dealership that it isn't just a car, its a MINI and it it means more to its owner than anyone.Only problem I had was I lost track of the time there, talking to Tony about the toys and mods on my car, most impressed with the roof graphic and Ipod install. If Prestons are reading this a THANKS I shall be coming back next time and buying my next MINI from you guys ![]() The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive? ![]() Last edited by Red Cooper : Apr 11th, 2005 at 12:24 PM. |

Offline | I didn't buy my car from Prestons (delivery wait was a bit long) but was so impressed with them I wanted to! It just seems like a nice friendly, family run garage. I've also heard that it has one of the best body shops in the country - so 10 guesses where my car will be going to have its stone chipped face smoothed out! |

Offline | body shop is excellent, its not in house, but they use an approved local place, very well priced. I had a 6 inch crease from a door ding in the near side rear panel, went to 2 other garages all wanted to charge over 1K and said I needed the whole panel replacing Prestons were confident they could do it, and make it as new, cost £325.I can't recommend them enough for body work ![]() ![]() ![]() The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive? ![]() |

Offline | Once again I have had the most excellent service from Prestons ![]() This time is was Alex in the service department, I really can't recommend going to them for mods or add ons. I just had the JCW kit, the JCW strut brace and the sill strips from there, and it was all because of Alex, he gave me a great price and all the way he returned my calls when I expected them, called me to keep me updated, and really looked after me and my MCSC![]() Must say its refreshing to find such a good dealership, after still waiting 2 weeks for Lister Park to call me back with even a price for the items I had fitted Well I guess its their loss, but might have to write and tell them how they lost out on a sale![]() If you want any mods, see Alex, he said that he will always try and give the best deal they can on any aftermarket bits ![]() The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive? ![]() |

Offline | I'm glad you guys have had a good experirnce with them, unfortunately I haven't. It took them 3 attempts to put some viper stripes on my one OneD, which six months down the line are wearing through near the boot, now the cheecky ****'s said they will remove the stripes FOC but want ot charge me £90 for polishing if there is any colour variation where the stripes have been. This is my second car from them, my first one a cooper, I had no problems at all with them in fact they were excellent, but this time they have just been inept in every way when trying to sort out my problems. |

Offline | Both sales and service. I always sang their praises after buying the wifes first cooper from them in 2003and I always took my company beamers there too without many problems. Went to them and spent 16k on a 2005 One D fully specc'd up. The sales process wasn't too bad apart from a general lack of communication on their part, but it all went very wrong when I went to collect the car. Firstly I noticed that one of the stripes on the roof had been patched, odd I thought (at this time I didn't know that original Mini stripes have a authenticity mark on them, it turned out that the guy who had fitted the stripes had patched over this to hide it (the annoying thing was that the dealer didn't even know that the mark should have been there). That made me look more closely at the car. Basically their was a knife cut into my bonnet through one of the stripes which had marked the paintwork, obviously the guy had slipped. The stripes themself were not straight, they were peeling away at the leading edges of the bonet and near the screen, basically they were a mess. I don't even think that the pre-delivery check had been done properly on the car as the alloys still had the protective plastic bits over the hubs, as did the door sills. Anyway to cut a long story short, they agreed to replace the stripes, fair enough I thought....went to collect the car after only to find that they still weren't correct, and the paintwork had been butchered even more, this time I had a nice big scratch on one wing the where the stripes tucked under the bonet the guy had use a knife again and cut into the paint work.....not happy...... anyhow this has gone on and on, my wife noticed last week the the stripes on the back bumper are wearing thing, in fact you can see the blue paint through them. So she takes the car in, speaks to the sales guy (who's also one of the managers there), he then goes and gets two guys from servicing who then basically tell my wife that the stripes have work through because she's put something in the boot. Now that would be a fair assumption if the stripes were actually scratched or puckered where something has hit them but the fact is they are so thin that the underlying paint is showing through after a few washes... Anyhow she gets them to agree to remove the stripes FOC as we don't want the hassel of them anymore and they still are under warranty (car only 6 months old now). Then the servicing and sales guys have the bare faced cheek to tell her that if the paint is mis-coloured where the stripes have been they will charge her £90 for polishing. So i'm going to pay them a visit with the car next week, and if they don't sort it this time FOC i'm going to start talking to Mini as I feel the level of service i've had from them this time has been terrible. I'm also waiting on them to replace my rusting front spotlights (which apparently i've since found out they shouldn't have fitted on a OneD as it blocks the airflow to the Intercooler - again they seemed ignorant to this fact). |

Offline | that is bad I've only really had dealings with the parts and service guys myself, as I always found sales to be poor on commumication![]() speak to the Dealer Principle, I think its Richard, or Joe he is the After Sales manager, both are nice guys, and maybe going to the top should get it all sorted If you still draw a blank then I would go to MINI, but they aren't all that great a help unless you keep pushing them. Keep records of who you have to spoken to and when, so you build a file as evidence of your disatisfaction ![]() I hope you get it sorted ![]() The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive? ![]() |
