| MINI2 Regular | MINI of Pittsburgh Everything was pretty much sterling up until my drivers side window shattered on the highway, with no other cars or people within 30' of me, the State Police even looked all through the car and could find NO evidence of foreign object damage (I was in the middle lane going 65 or so, so I feel pretty lucky not to be wearing an eye patch)... It's been at the dealership for over 3 weeks now, it has been fixed, but the service manager (who can't seem to call back within any reasonable amount of time) feels it is not a warranty issue, (funny MINIUSA seems to think it is) so it looks like I'm stuck with the deductible, possible rate hike, and other associated costs (no to mention being without my baby for all this time). The sales staff has always been wonderful, and I really enjoy going down there, they are enthusiasts and exceedingly nice people, but now I wish there was another dealer anywhere near me to go for service.... Offline | That sounds like BS. I agree the people there are nice, but I hope they dont treat me like that if something goes wrong. How did you know MINIUSA seems to think it should be covered? Cause going over peoples heads usually works well, or try MINI of Columbus, its a bit of a distance but it could work. Did you ever have it happen where the window didnt automatically go down when you open the door so it got closed while still up? Let me know how it goes with your struggle. 2004 MINI Cooper, Red and White bonnet stripes, Cold Weather Package |

| MINI2 Regular | MINIUSA back pedaled and washed their hands of the issue I had an e-mail from MINIUSA stating it was determined to be a warranty issue, but now they are saying that it is up to the dealership. I will not buy another MINI or BMW from this dealership, and until another one opens up somewhere closer that Columbus, I will do as much maintenance myself as possible. The service department was accomodating during the first service, (when the car required a new brake booster and glove box door as well as the software upgrade) but now has shown their true colors, deny deny deny and hope they go away.. The warranty is a waste of time if their dealership network will not stand behind the product 100%. I will post this on NAM and anywhere else I can find, to hopefully save someone else the trouble I went through. I'm not even excited about getting it back now, the experience has been tainted, now I feel like I'm just waiting till the next thing goes wrong that they will say is magically my fault. | MINI2 Regular | The Service Manager is at the head of my troubles He has been unprofessional in the past when we were supposed to work with the dealership on a local event, And nothing has changed, and what really bothers me is when MINIUSA contacted the body shop manager, he changed his story too. (he was the one who originally suggested it was likely a manufacturer error that caused the window to shatter, in essence, starting me on this path). I will shoot you an e-mail with the SM's name, but the best source for satisfaction would likely someone with the last name of Shults... I now know 2 people who will not be buying MINI's at that dealership because of this, and I imagine I can get an even 10 by the time I let it go. Thanks, Jim DS/B "S" HERE!!!!! | MINI2 Regular | Now the window got stuck DOWN Wow, picked it up last Wednesday and it already failed.. (Of course it started raining so I had to stop under an overpass and mess with it for 20 min till it went up, now I won't put it down until I take it back to the dealer..) Maybe I'll wait until I drive to NH in Aug so I can try a dealer that actually provides SERVICE... DS/B "S" HERE!!!!! Sport package Premium package Harmon Kardon |
