Offline | Your service departments comforts......do they have any?? My beloved Minnie goes in on Friday for her first service (7,500 miles, 1 year old) An hour and a half they told me it took so I can wait for it. I thought that I may as well as the service department is miles from anywhere. "Got internet access?" I enquired "God no!!" he replied "whats a girl to do?" I asked "got some papers and magazines you can read" he said Can't wait - NOT!! So what delights has your service department offered you while waiting? I can make a list and present it Friday morning while waiting....... That should go down like a lead balloon eh!! |

Offline | Funny you should ask about internet access! That would be great. My dealership's customer lounge is also their part/accessory shop. You can browse all the MINI (and BMW) accessories, watch either of 2 TVs, eat popcorn (they have a little carnival-like popcorn cart) have a donut, or have coffee from one of the most automated hot drink machines I've ever seen. The coffee product is in little foil bags with a surgical-looking port at the top. There are about 6 choices of products (decaf, french roast, capuccino, espresso, tea, hot chocolate) You open the machine front, place your foil bag into the slot, close the door. Next you place your cup under the door front, press the brew button and your little foil bag somehow purges it's contents through the machine into your cup. Oh, it also disposes of the foil pouch in the machine, no need for the customer to throw it away. Although, I'm sure the employees have to empty the machine at some point. This is a clever little table-top model, not the big floor model vending machine. So that's it. That's the exciting happenings in my dealer's customer lounge. I must be easily amused by the little machine. ![]() '04 MCS "Audrey" (Jan build) CR/W DAUGHTER'S '04 MCS "Bagheera" (June build) JB/JB HIS USTCC #58 '06 MCS "Lily" (April build) PH/W HERS |

![]() maker of trouble | I was impressed with Otto's set-up... Not only do they have internet access - but the last time I was there they had a computer set up for anyone to use - so you can choose to bring your laptop or not! They have the fun coffee dispenser - which works for those of us who are coffee-illeterate. Huge flat-screen with satellite tv, snacks, drinks (soda), as well as the obligatory mags & flyers. Lots of comfy seating - and if you get tired of sitting you can browse the store they've set-up next to the waiting room - all of the MINI and BMW merchandise you could ever want! Much better than others I been to! Three thumbs up! Hmmmmm |

| MINI2 Master | I remember the first time I was sat waiting for my car to come out of service at Wheatley Hall BMW/MINI in Doncaster - I had no idea you didn't have to pay for the drinks, so even though I was thristy I didn't take one! ![]() That's what comes of working at Vauxhall (UK GM to the Americans reading! ) dealership at the time. Now of course, I know a lot different! ![]() |

Offline | Is it weird to enjoy a service? Perhaps it is but I really did, and a big thank you to Park Lane MINI. Time flew by. Lots of creature comforts on tap... decent coffee, papers etc. Friendly, but not cheesy, staff. Job well done and a free 15min Shiatsu massage thrown in too ![]() |

| ITS RAINNIN' SIDEWAYS | prestons mini at colne has a nice coffee lounge area with leather sofas, big telly, plenty of newspapers & magazines, free biccies & cake bars (including jaffa cake bars ) & frsh tea, coffee & cold drinks served by a receptionist. once when i had to wait about an hour for a repair they made me some toasted teacakes ![]() the only complaint i would have is that it would be better being self service as the staff are often too busy to serve you. i included this comment in my last customer service questionnaire which you get after every visit - theres a specific section on the questionnaire for feedback on the coffee lounge ![]() |

Offline | Let's see a parts dept. to browse, coffee, mags and the last time I was there a Z-8 to drool over and I might add a very attractive sales woman. Not a bad way to spend an hour or so. |
