Offline | Welcome back It's as hot here as in HK!I'm glad you'll pick up your MINI soon. My situation is different. It was built July 4th, at the Southampton docks July 8th, NOT put on the Takasago as booked, bumped to the Aida, the Aida sailed late, my MINI was AGAIN NOT put on the ship. It's been sitting there now for 25 days! I'm very unhappy It's distressing to see cars that were build #1,000 AFTER mine get on the boat. I may need, no I do need therapy.Enjoy your new MINI! I'm sure I will at some point. Missing my buddies Dan and Ed but glad I have two angel buddies , And on a quest to Right Secco's Wrongs |

Offline | I visited MINI Peabody (MP) and placed my order on April 4, 2002. The order stayed in a file until the allocations consumed the orders ahead of me. Last week I got my offical production number. Between then and now it has been frustration because no one really knows what problems can come up in production. I waited an extra month to get the HK stereo upgrade and that was killed. MP talked me out of the HK. I am glad to have my car built to spec. and will blow off the HK rather than wait and still not be certian of getting the HK. The pre-spec cars will always stand out to me because there are many identical cars and nothing was going to fit my requirements. However, MP offered me several to choose from. (I could be driving now?) The car is special to me and I will wait as long as there are no big lies about the production and estimated delivery date. From the start MP estimated when I would have a car and so far it is ok. They never promised anything to get my order. MP seems fair and most of their problems are based on getting started and working with limited production and high demand. The manager has acually bough a MINI. I think this is a good shop.... ![]() Ess |

Offline | Kudo's to MINI of Peabody for delivery of my awesome MCS on Saturday, August 31st. Brig took his time and was very thorough in going over the MINI. Granted, he was a bit surprised when I checked the oil and other fluid levels but not judgemental. Only things which are minor and no big deal: the rubber boot mat, cargo net and map light were not available (although paid for) and they will FedEx them when they are in. I did find that my black panther leather had a 3/4" inch scratch down to white, dead center on the driver's seat. Martin (the GM) made a note and signed it on my paperwork that it would be repaired to my satisfaction on next visit. Love my MINI t-shirt #233, sure makes me feel special No requests or pressure to buy anything additional at all. No dealer decals on MINI and Brig even asked if it was ok to put on a MINI of Peabody license plate frame. Good luck to everyone, I hope your experience with MINI of Peabody is as pleasant as mine. Offline | GOMINI, go..! ![]() Glad you got the car at last..! I'm surprised they're still giving out shirts. Any idea when they stop..? I'm sure when we got the Cooper in April, Brig said there were 200. Obviously more than that as yours proves! What's the situation with front plates from Peabody..? You got new plates, right..? Did they drill the front bumper for the front plate..? I'm thinking of asking them to leave the front plate off of the S but I don't know if they would for legal reasons... We never had any problems running our Miata without a front plate (although we always had it in the trunk so we could say it just fell off!) They seem like good guys there. Gary King even emailed me the other week to apologize for not having time to talk to me when I went in...! I only went to get the key programmed and talk to Brig about the S order, but I thought it was a nice touch. Maybe if I ask them nicely the won't put the plate on (at least not with screws...) |

Offline | 9 Month wait - how much more? Hey GadgetGav, Noticed in your signature line you've been waiting for your S for 9 months. Any news when your order will go in? Have you received any feedback from Peabody? My order went in this July. I've been sort of waiting until the 2003 production models start to roll in then I want to try and figure out where I am in the queue. They are very vague about how many may be in front of me. I wish it wasn't such a black box..... |

Offline | I should change the sig... I think I'm closer than 9 months now..! I did actually find out what number I was on the list, although I don't think they normall tell you. They are pretty accurate about estimating when you will be able to place the order because they have such a long list and a finite number of cars every week / month so it's easy for them to figure out. I've also got a friend who was about a month ahead of me and she just placed her order last week. When I was there a few weeks ago Brig said the list for the S was still 12 months worth of their allocation..! (8 months for the Cooper). It is tought to get feedback from them, but I guess from their point of view there's not much they can tell you week to week. You just have to wait until your name gets to the top of the list... Of course, having a Cooper to drive in the wait makes it much easier to cope..!! ![]() I wouldn't worry too much about exactly how many people are in front of you, if they've told you a date when you're going to be abel to order, I think that will be about right. |

Offline | Yep, that's us. I work at University Park and my wife works at Kendall Sq so you're bound to see us sometime..! I've seen a silver S on Mem Drive and there's an all red S that I've seen three times on Sidney St. There's also a yellow / black Cooper in my parking lot with RI plates. Not bad for a small area from my failing memory..! ![]() |

Offline | GadgetGav, I have the aero kit and it comes with a license plate mount. I'm very pleased with how it looks, especially with the GOMINI plates. I actually prefer it with the front plate. Hand screwed right into the plastic, no drilling required. The tag on the shirt said it was limited edition, each dealer getting 300. I can't seem to post pics. from my documents. Too big and I'm no whiz at reducing them. hachomini, Nice colors! I like it. I saw a yellow/white MINI in Salem last Saturday just before we picked up ours. Was it you? Peabody has sold two other MINI's to Cape Codders but I haven't seen them. If anyone can reduce and post a pic. of my S I will email it to you. Let me know. Cheers ![]() Missing my buddies Dan and Ed but glad I have two angel buddies , And on a quest to Right Secco's Wrongs |

Offline | Thanks for the welcome: I am doing a lot of variation in speed and gear selection and keeping the revs under 4.5k in short bursts. I have notice she wants to rev more and more so something is loosening up (or wearing out..). ![]() If there is noticable change that would be fun. It's not bad now. The difference in the 03 is that there is a jack in the boot? All the manuals are 2001 and 2002. Ess |
