Offline | Just wanted to comment on my service experience with Peabody. Brought the S in for the 10K service and a few other niggles (slight coolant leak at the water pump, minor occasional condensation in rear lights and a few other silly non-invasive things). Gary noticed right away that the drivers side window rattled when the door was opened. I thought it was normal, no big deal, but they replaced the entire mechanism. They also thought there might be an issue with the coolant tank (I thought it was fine due to no leaks) but they opted to replace it as well. The service went like clock work and the MINI is tip-top. I'm so impressed with how they run this place. Knowledgeable, informative, helpful, friendly, etc. Also fun to be able to go into the service bays and watch. It was a lot of work (removal of front bumper, radiator and who else knows what) to get at that stupid little o-ring that was leaking coolant, but they handled it with ease. Thanks again, MINI of Peabody ![]() Missing my buddies Dan and Ed but glad I have two angel buddies , And on a quest to Right Secco's Wrongs |

| heh...lame | Spa? Anyone have any information about the Spa at Peabody? My car is so gross right now and the self serve bays I've gone to are crap. I get sick of pumping quarters into it, and my car is never really too clean. I am looking at going out to the Worcester area just to get to Ernie's Car Wash. Ernie's But then I remembered about some Spa thing at Peabody. Not any info on the website really. The BMW Peabody site has some prices of stuff, says $20 for a hand wash and interior vacuum. At this point I would pay 20 bucks to have the car actually cleaned well. Can't really do it myself in the driveway in the cold. So if anyone knows anything, that would be cool, and I'm going to go ahead and email Gar and see what he can tell me. "Just keep heading into the wind. Don't let anything blow you over." Offline | The Spa at MINI Peabody charges $20.00 for a hand wash and vacuum and will clean your factory wheels, the Spa Wash cost $30.00 will be the same as above plus they will clean all windows and put tire dressing on and wipe down the door jams. You can make a appointment through Kevin or Gary. |

Offline | Not bad... there's a detailing place in the parking lot where I park for work, but I think they charge more than that and they are not Mini fanatics like the Spa would be... Does anyone know if they're open at the weekend..? |

| heh...lame | Scott, cool. Thanks for the info. I called you a few weeks ago about the Biker Jacket. I got it, and its sweet. It was great that it came in on a Tuesday after I only ordered it on a Friday. Gavin, I think I saw you on the road the other day. You were going towards Lex center and I was going away from it, on Bedford St/4/225. I didn't wave or anything because I thought it was the other PS owner in Lex. Those people seem lame and I forgot you got yours recently. We ought to make a date once it gets warmer to Zaino our cars. I haven't done it before so it'd be cool to do it with someone who knows what they're doing. "Just keep heading into the wind. Don't let anything blow you over." Ed Smith / MaxaMini 6/14/05 |

Offline | Warmer... what was that again..??? Sure, sounds like a good idea. I think I'll wash mine on Sunday even if it's cloudy / rainy. It scares me how much road salt sticks to it and I didn't get to put any Zaino or anything on. I think I'll order the cure enhancer from Zanio so that I can use it as soon as we're reasonably above freezing. Can't really justify time off work to take the car to the spa though... wish they were open even half a day at the weekends.... |

Offline | I'mm so glad to hear that nearly everyone has had a good experience with Mini of Peabody. I started out my search for a new Mini at the "other" dealership in the Boston area. I found their salespeople to be snobbish and very unhelpful. One of them clearly didn't take me seriously because I was a woman. Another obviously didn't feel he had to work to get my business, since there are so many other Mini buyers out there, and this guy was no help to me at all. Then I took a little trip out to Peabody, and I felt totally at ease with the car buying process. Hrach was the one who showed me the car (what a character!), and he is obviously so in love with Minis that his enthusiasm is just contagious. He answered all my questions and treated me with absolute respect. And during the wait for my car, he's been pretty good about keeping me up to date with what's going on. I haven't taken delivery of my Mini yet--it's being taken off the ship today! But if my past experience is anything to go by--and if all of your experience is anything to go by-- I know that I made the right decision to take a little drive north to Peabody. |

Offline | Just a note to say I just had a flawless day of service at Peabody. Went in for stress cracked windshield which was replaced under warranty. They now do the windshields in-house. Much better quality control having the trained MINI tech's do it. While there they also took care of a couple of niggles and minitech (that's his username on this board) heard a rear boot rattle and fixed that as well and got my Xenons properly adjusted. Sales staff was as congenial and freindly as ever and I managed to walk out with a few goodies to add to my mini memorobilia collection DON'T FORGET: JUNE 21ST MOUNT WASHINGTON MINI'S ON TOP!! Offline | I almost can't wait to meet the people in Peabody! After a nightmare experience at Herb Chambers, it will be nice to work with people who actually care about the MINIs. Hopefully it won't be until routine tune-up time though! ![]() |

Offline | Snek, welcome to mini2. I didn't trade a vehicle with them. But for what it's worth: I do beleive that despite typically receiving less for a trade-in than if you sold it privately, you are better off trading to the dealer because you eliminate all the real world time consuming hassles of selling it yourself. Offline | Haven't negotiated a car trade w/ them. I'll be interested to hear what you find. I have a Subaru I'm thinking about trading in. On another "trade" question, my MINI should be arriving in NYC on May 29. I want to have the car refitted with the R83 16" 5 spoke wheels vs. the stock 16" wheels. Since it comes w/ some rims I'd rather trade those rims in and have the trade apply towards the new R83 rims. Has anyone done anything similar? cheers, Mark EB/W May '03 MCS, v.36 stumble buster software (previously v. 33.2) EX-STUMBLER - Still YO-Yo-ing |

Offline | Snek, Probably rather late to be posting now ... I traded my 2002 MC for a 2003; they gave me a perfectly agreeable price. But I think they would prefer not to take too many non-MINIs ... Remember if you trade with them instead of private sale, you save the MA tax so that is an extra 5% bonus (you also save hassle, ad-fees, etc). |
