MINI of Peabody

I put down a deposit on a S about 3 weeks ago but havent gotten a waitlist number yet. The salesman keeps telling me that they havent made out the list yet or something.
Can anyone of you tell me if you have numbers from Peabody and if so, how long it took for them to give you the number?

sorry about the long question

kars...You had the exact same post on the "other" board. Since I have already answered you "over there" (not to mention that I suck as a typist ), I'll refer you back to road***.com

BTW, a few of us New Englanders on this board are planning a MINI event sometime this year (No firm details yet!). Can we count you in?

I am ordering a Mini Cooper but I haven't been able to get in contact with the dealers to get any updates from them (they told me production was May for my mini).

Good Luck!

I gave my deposit in August 2001 for a Cooper S(9 loooonnnnnggg months ago) and was never officially given a number or place on "the list".
They do have my full custom specs ready to be entered a soon as they can.
Interestingly, a dealer ("miniqueen") on the other forum said that today, April 26, is the day that S custom specs can go in.
Brig at MINI of Peabody told me that S custom specs can go in a month from now on May 26. Obviously conflicting dates.

thanks for the responses guys, yes there seems to be a lot of conflicting reports about when customer spec orders go in. I guess we'll have to wait and see as to what happens...
I'm all for a new england mini event!!

I ordered my Cooper w/CVT on 3/27, and I was told to expect it June-July. Peabody's CVT demo went into production on 4/11, I'm told. I do not yet have a number for my order/car.
I'm a definite maybe for a NE MINI event.

Unhappy

Hey guys,

I visited the Peabody Dealer this week and I was told by Ron that their computers are not running yet. Everything is on folders so they have a lot of catching up to do, and they're also very busy since there's a lot of interest in the MINI.

He also said the 2003 model will have a couple of changes, but all he knew was that the cup holders will be placed in a different spot. That's all folks!

No sig. for me.

I'm posting just to get us back on the top of the thread!
Seriously though, has anyone had any updates from MINI Peabody. Last I heard from Brig was that they were able to "modify" some of the S orders on April 26.
Found out too, that despite having a deposit there since last August I am #83 on the list
Oh well, could be worse I suppose.
If anyone gets any news, post it here.

We had our deposit down at Peabody for a Cooper in Nov last year and around the end of March we were told we were about 110 on the list... Then they rang up saying we've got a car with this spec, do you want it..? We got the car at the end of April, presumably because a lot of people ahaed of us were waiting for S's or for custom spec Coopers.
We just went back and put a deposit down on an S and they said about 9 months. This time we want a DS/Black with Xenons and Sport pack, so it will be at least Sept before it can get built and there must be LOTS of back ordered DS cars ahead of us..!! Still, the Cooper is fun until the S comes.
Peabody have been pretty good. Not always the most knowledgable, but fair on price (unlike the other Boston area dealer). Ron mentioned to us that the cup holders were moving for 2003... I don't know where he heard that but he seems to be telling everyone...!

I placed a deposit for the mini at the beginning of April and I was told that the delivery date would be July. I called last week and they told me that I would have to wait until August. Anyone ordered a mini in April?

Placed my deposit 3/27, was told maybe June but more likely July because I ordered a Cooper with CVT. Received a production # but no build date this week. However, my order is now on hold due to the Xenon headlight delay. I'm hoping for a July build and that I'll see the car no later than September... need to replace my current vehicle before the snow flies.

I am deciding on whether I should get the xenons or not. Not sure if I can wait another month. The problem I have now is that I have not been able to get a hold of the dealer for the past 2 weeks.

Another month? You can do it. Everything I've seen indicates the Xenons are worth the investment.

I think I will wait for the Xenons

The problem that I have now is getting in touch with my dealer. I have tried to reach him for the past two weeks...but no luck. I just want to check on the status of the car since they did tell me there wa a chance of having a May build date.
