Australia Dealership in Melbourne

Does anyone have any tips on which BMW/Mini dealer is best in Melbourne? Anyone have any good/bad experiences with any of them?

Also, any person at the dealership you think is good?

Many Thanks

When the Vics get online they'll sort you out, but I had a nice long test drive back in February with Harry at Doncaster MINI. The car ... JCW MCS.

Mmmm... JCW

I didn't know you didn't live in Melbourne Liam - now that I actually look at your profile, I see you're from Canberra. I'll probably be heading there sometime post-election... would be good to catch up!

Sorry to steal the post on that jbensley, I'm trying to answer the same question as you at the moment!

I think the best solution in reality is to call around, tell the dealers what you're after and let them come back to you. On any given day, any dealer may beat another as far as price is concerned - I doubt that one would be consistently significantly cheaper/more expensive.

I've heard DJ (Username on MINI2: DJP) from Doncaster Mini Garage is really good, however since he is yet to reply to my message (DJ, if you're reading this, a reply would be awesome mate... lol ) I shall reserve my personal judgement.

Good luck.

Chris

I got mine through Cal Rule at Mini Garage Melbourne on Kings Way, and couldn't fault him. Nice guy, and was very helpful. MGM is also the BMW owned dealership, and I've heard very good reports about their service department. I haven't had my car serviced yet but I've been back a couple of times for very minor things (like a new interior light globe) and they've been excellent.
Like I said to someone else if you tell Cal that Michael Daniel sent you he'll probably only charge you $1000 extra (jokin'!)

One of the other dealerships (it's 'NERE' the beach, if you get my drift), I've not heard the greatest reports about.... and in fact someone on here was doing some work at BMW head office, and allegedly this other dealer is the only one in the country whose service department does not meet the service levels that BMW demands......

G'day mate,

My advice wouldbe tostart with the one closest to your house... then worka wy from there.

Dont get the first price and go "Great, where do I sign?" Especially on floorstock.

Shop around.

I got mine from Peck & Stokes. I initially had a really poor experience there, only to be asked back by another salesman... I went from thinking about buying a cooper to purchasing a Cooper S - becasue someone who listened to what I wanted, sold me the car I was asking for, not what they felt was need to be moved from the floor.

If you dont mind a drive - jump on the Geelong road and pop into see Ben at Peck & Stokes Mini Garage... call him first on 03 5221 2111 to make sure he is in, but I'm sure he'll look after you.

Todd

My easiest way to get to Geelong is as follows:
  1. Borrow the parents car
  2. Key any metropolitan Melbourne destination into the Satnav
  3. The Satnav will then inevitably take me via Geelong... god knows why but it often does

An aspiring politician I guess... still, even at uni politics level it takes up waaay too much of my time.

Getting a federal seat would be great... I was in Canberra for the federal budget earlier in the year, and god, can MP's party! In their ministerial offices, at that.

Ahh well, good to know our taxes are going somewhere beneficial. Oh, wait... what the?? <shuts up>

Just up the road from you... Melbourne.

I'm there pretty much all day, every day, so if you want to catch up one day, let me know!

No worries Chris.

So erm, are your political aspirations Chili Red or Indi Blue? Hmm, they might even be BRG ... who knows?

Haha, that's what I was thinking. I'm just trying to establish if we should keep the discussion strictly to MINIs.

I can say Doncaster Mini is the way to go. David in sales is really good. Another plus, is the service Manager there Peter. He owns and races a JCWS.

We also go on mini drives relgiously each month form Doncaster Mini.
May be we will see you next month?

I can strongly recommend Simon and Jeff from Bib Stillwell in South Yarra.

Their service and attention to detail was beyond reproach and I could not speak highly enough of the whole experience. Coming from a service industry myself, it was amazing to experience such great, friendly staff.

Camfriz.... are you simon or jeff from bib stillwell?!
you sound like promoting something...

BTW, For my experience... MINI GARAGE MELBOURNE is the WORST dealer that i've ever met.
No discount (Straight price. no discount at all).... Long wait ( somehow they need 5-6months for special order but well usually it takes 3 month only.)...NO Service. (The guy would not serve you until you put a deposit in front of him. BAD ATTITUDE) For my test drive, i've been asked to stop becoz they said i'm taking too long. Yeah rite 15mins is long.

Above is all my personal experience, believe it or not. but they are just suxs!!!
I swear i will ever never going back to it.
