Offline | I ordered a MCC. My car is actually at Lauderdale Mini -- I am flying down this weekend. I hope I don't have the same customer service issues with Downtown Mini when I take my car in for service. |

Offline | Last June my wife and I wandered into Downtown MINI just to check out the MINI as we were killing time and thought they were cute. We looked around and spoke with Christine and Mike Torre. We left thinking how cool the cars were and how full-featured they were. The following Saturday (closed Sunday) we dropped by again and had Joyce run the numbers for us on a MCS, fully loaded (except cold weather items) and a Nav. The next Saturday, we walked in and spoke with Mike Torre again and put down a deposit on the fully loaded 2005 MCS and got a build date in Sept. We stopped by every other weekend just to play and the staff was great, even letting my wife test drive the cars. I was tracking the car online and probably had more info than the dealership on where it was. Mike called me in mid Sept to let me know it had just arrived. A couple of days later (after dealer accesories installed) we went in and took delivery. Everything was perfect and the staff was awesome. They introduced Sean to us and he gave us his card so we could make an appointment for service when needed. Well, it's now March and I have a couple of rattles and they still owe me the Rear Fog Kit that wasn't available for the 2005 when I picked it up. I figured I would have everything looked at when I got the first oil change. Stopped by last weekend to make an appointment to have everything looked at and my wife spotted a fully loaded 2005 MCSC in the showroom. It was my car's convertable twin, same color, same stripes, same features, even the Nav. She wanted it and the price was MSRP, just like mine. She mentioned to Mike Torre that she wanted the car and he put a SOLD sign on the windscreen with no deposit or anything. We had to run because my wife had to get to an appointment. I loved the sad looks on the 2 other people looking at the car when the SOLD sign went on. On Monday, my wife stopped in and test drove another MCSC with Auto (like hers, mines a stick) and she had a blast. Her car was getting the iPod adapter installed. She ran to work and we both went in on Wednesday and she drove out in her new car. Boy did we get looks going down Orange Ave in 2 Red MCS with white stripes, one a convertable, one not. I get to take my car in next Tuesday to Sean for it's first service. It has been raining for two days so my wife hasn't been able to keep the top down for more than a few minutes. She has a huge grin, and so do I 6 months later. I have purchased 8 cars in my life. I have been lucky to get great salesmen on 4 of them and didn't feel pressured or taken advantage of on those occasions. The absolute best experience has been Downtown MINI. Everyone there is friendly and 'real'. We usually wander in on Saturdays and they can be quite busy. Even before we bought a car there, the went out of their way to greet us and let us know they would get to us when they could (lots of folks before us usually). The treatment hasn't changed since we purchased the cars. They do greet us by name but unless you have an appointment, they take folks in the order they come in. I do miss Joyce as she moved over to Fields BMW (I believe.) We haven't really met the new person as Mike took care of us right away the past week or so. I couldn't believe we were the only customers there when we walked in on Saturday. We were quickly followed by 5-6 other customers. Mike really took care of us and even cut us a break on some items. We have never come up against any minimum add-ons as we usually max out our vehicles anyway. I would recommend them with no hesitations. In fact, I have 2 friends heading in in the next few days to look at MINIs. Jerry |
