My MINI's just been in for its first oil service to Stephen James BMW in Enfield, North London. It also has the common steering click and a rattley dash.

Well I have to say I'm impressed, and I will be taking my MINI here in future. They are very professional and extremely helpful - more so than my original dealer, Scotthall MINI in Borehamwood. They have ordered a new steering column, and will do the dash when they do this as both are quite big jobs, and so the car can be in for a couple of days in one go.

I have experienced their sales side which wasn't quite as pleasing. Went there on one weekend in november looking at MOs and MOCs, spent a long time nosing round and didnt even get acknowledged by staff, ebded up having to earwig on someone elses demo! called them that week to arrange a test drive on a MOC and got one booked for the following weekend at a particular time. got there promptly and then had to wait an extra 45 mins for the salesman to come to us. took the car on a directed, shortish drive and salesman mentioned unprompted that it would be a 8 month wait (lots of other dealers i had spoken to quoted 3 months/march) when sat down in the showroom i checked with him that he said july which he said yes, i said i wanted one for march as lots of other people could do that, he went away 'to his manager' and guess what - he could now do march! sem sthey hold back slots for people like me at the expence of unsuspecting joe public! I told him that I could save around £300 by going through a broker and said that if he was able to match it then i would order it then - i had a quote on paper to prove it. he looked at me like i'd just called him a $%@&!!! He was practically rude to us and was obviously stroppy - it didn't exactly seem professional!. We ended up ordering from elsewhere!

I'm sorry about your bad experience arbee.

I've had yet another good experience with Stephen James today. I took my MINI in this morning to have the steering column replaced and the dash rattle sorted. I was quoted 2 days of work, but they had it done by the end of the day. The steering is now perfect, and the dash rattle is a lot better (although it needs to go back to be looked at again as it's not completely sorted). The service was excellent, just like last time.

I 've been taking my Mini Cooper S to Stephen James (Lincoln Road , Enfield)since I've had it and I must say their after sales service is superb! I have no complaints, everything I've taken it in for has been carried out including warranty work with no hassle.I was even advised to take it in for an MOT before the warranty ran out so anything picked up on will be carried out under warranty.

I just want to add my 2p's worth.. I used to work for Stephen James in the Service Department, and it makes me happy to know that our service department was good enough for you to return

Also, check out our parts department - the best partsman I know works ther.. My boyf Another Mini driver

Unfortunatly, however, I no longer within the BMW/Mini sector.. I've crossed over to the dark side.. I'm working for Zee Germans with the 3 pointed star

I'd much rather go back to working with Mini's though..

I've used the parts dept many times. I don't know who your boyfriend is, but they're all really helpful.

Well, my boyf is the very tall guy with glasses and skin head.. He works the front counter parts on a Saturday and he's the bodyshop back counter guy during the week.. Mention Mini2.com when you go in next time

Jamie, as in the Mini Salesman? I'm not sure.. He's left there now, he's not working with cars anymore, he's gone into catering.
