| Jedi Master | Just to follow up on the earlier converstaion. My car will be delivered Thursday after a week of trying to get the new spoiler put on the rear of the car. Cincy mini found a body shop that said they can do the work. Hope it isn't too expensive. I filled out all the paperwork last night so that all I have to do thursday is grab the keys and drive on out. I signed the form that said the car has/will have 20 miles on the odometer. This is slightly more than your car's 10, but my car has been through a lot more to have the rally lights and spoiler installed. I would believe the 10 on your odometer than the 2. I can't imagen even a domestic made car with that few miles on it when the car gets to the dealership. Did you get all this figured out? Yoda.......who is planning a mini meet VERY soon. IB/IB Cooper, Black Leather, every option except CVT, (plus bonnet stripes, rally lights, aero rear spoiler and floor mats). |

| Jedi Master | looking for someone in Dayton OH If you are a Mini owner in the Dayton OH area, please contact me at gvestes @ yahoo.com . I would like to organize a Mini meet for owners in the Indiana/Ohio/Kentucky area, and I think that Dayton would be a good "central" location for everyone. Thanks Yoda IB/IB Cooper, Black Leather, every option except CVT, (plus bonnet stripes, rally lights, aero rear spoiler and floor mats). |

Offline | I've taken my BRG Cooper home I had been led to expect our BRG Cooper to show up at the MAG dealership late last week (around July 26), but was surprised by a call on Monday afternoon, July 22, from MAG saying that my Cooper was in. I took Tuesday afternoon off and my wife, 12 year-old son and I made the 270 mile round-trip to Dublin, OH to pick up our Cooper. We arrive at MAG just after a rain storm and found the staff out squeegeeing the water off of our beautiful BRG Cooper which was parked just outside of the BMW showroom. I had been led to believe by my salesperson that the memory options could be programmed during the delivery process. After we arrived I mentioned it to the motoring advisor who indicated that we would stop by the service department and have it taken care of in a bit. It was after the paperwork was completed and they had filled the car with gas and we were about to drive away when I rememebered the memory options. I was then taken to the service department where I was informed that it would cost about $50, but unfortunately the only person who could program the changes just left for the day. I would have to return on another day. It would be $50 because I needed to have negotiated this prior to the paperwork and the service department's hands were tied. I was not a happy camper but because we were so excited to get on the road I didn't push the issue. After I had been driving about 3 days and 400 miles I had the Tire Pressure and DSC Indicator Lights malfunction, which is apparently common. I decided to check the tire pressure and discovered 42-44 PSI in my 16" performance run-flats. Apparently MAG had forgotten to release excess air pressure that is commonly added during shipping. Another MAG goof. Why don't dealers realize that the memory options present them with a very easy means to customize each and every MINI in a way that let's every customer feel special and unique, like it's their custom MINI. It's so easy and would greatly benefit the customer/dealer relationship. If they were just prepared with a checklist of options that could be presented when you arrive and then the programming completed while the paperwork is done. TAKE A HINT DEALERS! Oh and get the tire pressure correct too. This is just plain sloppiness. Overall while I would not call our experience with MAG great, I would not call it poor either, probably somewhere like above average. Given all of the warnings about MAG and MSRP++ I was pleased that they did not try to pull anything and they stuck to our agreed upon MSRP with NO dealer add-ons. Although we did opt for the rubber floor mats and a "Let's Motor" license plate frame, which put a few more bucks in MAG's pocket. And how would I describe our MINI driving experience so far... fantastic, a blast, great fun... smiling everyday. - hotcoffee ![]() |

| Jedi Master | I'm surprised at the $50 charge. Mini in Cincy doesn't charge this. Call them and see if this is standard procedure. Yoda. PS, check out the Meetings and Events forum for a pending meet for ohio/ky/indy owners. Offline | Re: Re: MAG MINI Did you post the pics? I have spoken with Chad several times in the last six months and was confident in MAG's ability to provide me with an 03 S at MSRP around the first of the year. Some of the posts I've been reading caused my stomach to tighten at the thought that this might not be the case. You seem to have succeeded in dealing with MAG, and as Chad told me to contact them again in September, I would be interested in any advice you might have. I've been on the list with MAG for awhile and they have actually offered me the chance to order an 02 S a couple times (I've declined with the hopes that a MINI graduation present to myself will motivate me in my last quarter.). Anyways, I'd like to go through MAG because they're close and I should be at the top of the list (we'll find out for sure very soon). -Louie |

Offline | Louie, Go ahead and go with MAG. Even though my relationship with them started out rough, it ended well. I've heard of other people ordering cars for this fall at MSRP so there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to do the same. There are some pictures of my car in my gallery: http://www.mini2.com/gallery/persona...llery=minimott Only the last three are of me and my car, the others are Photoshop jobs I was doing for people on the forum. It'll be nice to see other cars around Columbus! minimott Dark Silver/White S, Premium package, Lapis blue/gray leather, 16" wheels |

Offline | After reading that you(Minimott), had gotten your Mini deal straightened out I decided to try MAG out again.. I stopped at MAG this week and the person in the showroom told me that they were selling Minis for $1000 over MSRP and Mini S's for $1500 over. As I was leaving I asked him if he was Chad, he wasn't, so now I'm wondering if it is really possible to get a Mini S there for MSRP or not; if I manage to talk to the right person ? BTW, thanks for to all for posting their thoughts and experiences here, it is a very useful resource. ![]() Last edited by Dinkytoy : Sep 21st, 2002 at 01:59 PM. |

Offline | Or, go 3 hours due west. I've ordered my MCS at MSRP from Dreyer & Reinbold. They tried to sell me extras, but not very hard. (I was also in one of those "what else can I get?" frames of mind). ![]() |

Offline | Dinkytoy- I called to see about putting my order in and learned about the HK sound sys and rain sensing washers being delay until at least Dec builds. I did not speak to Chad or ask about the price when i called, but in the past Chad has told me that they will not sell for over MSRP. I don't know if that still holds, but here's Chad's info if you want to check. Chad Simkins 614-889-2571 ext. 4209 csimkins@magcars.com If you get any answers be sure to post. Louie |

Offline | Dinkytoy, Sorry, I'm just now finding time to post on here. I don't know if you've already straightened things out but what I can tell you is definitely talk to Chad. The Motoring Advisors are nice and all but they don't deal on the cars. They have nothing to do with the transaction. If you don't like what Chad says, you could try Cinci. A lot of people had success there. minimott Dark Silver/White S, Premium package, Lapis blue/gray leather, 16" wheels |

| My mini is my casket | Re: Re: MAG MINI Hi, I am working with someone at MAG (and he stated that their would be a $1500 markup for SPECIAL ORDER S) so i left. Came back last week and spoke to Mark C. and he stated that there was no markup. He knew that I was going to special order, and I was a little upside down on my trade in vehicle. And thats all he added on an example we did that the computer. WELL I called back today, and Mark was off, so the other person I spoke with started talking to me and once I said I would order on, he stated the $1500. I explained to him that I was told otherwise, and he backed down stating , whatever Mark and I spoke about, was between me and him... I feel like im about to get jacked here.... You said you got everything worked out with Chad... did you not have the markup??????????? |

| Jedi Master | Re: Re: Re: MAG MINI I can testify that Cincy Mini doesn't charge a markup, but probably because of it there's at least a 1 year waiting list for the S. Call Gibson or Amy at 513-271-8700 to find out. Yoda IB/IB Cooper, Black Leather, every option except CVT, (plus bonnet stripes, rally lights, aero rear spoiler and floor mats). |

| MINI2 Senior | I spoke with Chad Simkins at MAG Mini in Columbus, Ohio yesterday. He said they WERE charging $1,500 over list on the S. I told him I had spoken with Eric Robare, who was handling Minis before the launch, and Eric had said they were only going to charge list. Chad said that changed and tried to give me some lame argument about "supply and demand". I told him that was a lame explanation and they had lowered themselves to the level of the rest of the profiteers out there. So today, I'm calling Cincinnati. Dave O. Columbus, Ohio |

| My mini is my casket | yea if you can wait, I would. I dont buy into that crap either. STICK to the $1500, or not. Dont they know we have the internet? That we can find out who got it for MSRP and who didn't I got them to sell it to me at MSRP. You just have to play the game also ![]() |

| MINI2 Senior | I even told Chad Simkins that I had read on the Mini2 Forums how they were not charging $1,500 over. I just spoke with Cinci Mini. They want a $1,000 deposit which is refundable until the vehicle is being built. Then it is not refundable. They can do the deal over the phone with a fax of the credit card and a drivers license. They will get my business! Dave |

| MINI2 Senior | I just spoke with Gibson at Cincinnati Mini. She was pleasantly surprised to here she has been immortalized on Mini2. She also said that as of today (11/14/02), at 15 S models per month, they will be delivering cars ordered now in May/June. If their quota is increased, delivery times will drop. She confirmed they were dealing at list. I will be faxing over an order tomorrow. If you're in Columbus, Ohio just drive an hour and a half and save $1,500.... Dave |

Offline | I ordered mine early October and it just landed in New York. I got it at list. With good dealers in Indianapolis and Cincinatti, I don't see why anybody would deal with Columbus. |
