MINI of Manhattan - Thumbs DOWN

Here is my experience with MINI of Manhattan. I ordered my MC back in January. My MA seemed friendly and supercharged. No price break on the order (didn't expect any) but she promised me free floormats. Order went smoothly. My baby arrived on time. All went well, until ...

On delivery date, my invoice showed a "Dealer installed accessory" for $149. My MA told me that this item refers to the floormats, and she assured me that it's there only to show what's installed, and that she was not actually going to charge me for that. Then she took my bank check, swiped my credit card for the remaining balance, and I was happily off to honeymoon with my baby, without double checking the charge receipt (big mistake).

Two days later I found out that my credit charge included that $149. No big deal I thought ... people make mistakes and there is no way my MINI dealer was gouging me. So I emailed my MA, then left a voice message to ask to get a refund. No response. More voicemails. No response. Two weeks later I emailed the sales manager. Within hours my MA called back and promised that the credit card refund will come in a few days. Two more weeks - no money. More voicemails. No response. So I had to call the sales manager and left a voice mail to complain. Next day my MA called back, again promised that she would personally make sure that the refund gets to me by Friday. 3 more weeks passed since that Friday, and still no money!

So now it's round 3 of me leaving voicemails and getting no response from this girl. It's been more than 2 months and I think I am about tired enough to give up. Lessons learned: always double check your invoice and receipts (I would probably remember to do that in a Toyota dealership; just never thought I need to do it when buying a MINI too).

It's time to escalate this further with e-mails to the owner of the dealership copied to MINIUSA followed by a visit back to the dealer to speak to the owner in person. There's no way I'd stand for this sort of service, or rather disservice and don't give up whatever you do

I'd be expecting some swag to compensate you as well.

Cheers.

Its not all mini dealers. Got mine from Mini of the Mainline in PA and their staff is great. But princeton refused to ship the aero front bumper after my lil accident with the older bumper, so the collison center turned to Main Line. I also have a friend who went to get a Mini and was given the worst service by Princeton of New Jersey . . I guess it just depends where u go.

I got my MINI from mini of manhattan. when I picked the car up, I assumed that I'd get free floor mats (not that I'd been promised any I should add) - there were none, and when I enquired I was told that they absolutely do not give free floor mats any more! sounded like they had a "policy" about it.

Those will add weight - perhaps you should consider linoleum?
