Appears as if Motor City Mini in Detroit will be getting the OK to sell cars in part of their their existing dealership (the ex-Audi showroom) facility, in advance of getting their new building started. They have had land acquisition issues with their planned all-new BMW/Mini store in Rochester Hills and apparently have been able to convince Mini that the brand needs a presence in the area, even if it isn't an all-new facility as had been initially planned.

they have over 700 names on the various lists that their salespeople have put together & they're calling people on the list (something like 200 people last week) to re-confirm interest.

They hope to be open for business in early August with some pre-spec cars available then. sounds like they'll be able to place initial customer orders to be built in August as well.

we have not decided what we'll be doing with our (very early) order slot yet.
