Offline | It's here! Well, the wait is over. It got to the dealership yesterday and I picked it up today. Nothing like picking up a new car after the first snowstorm of the year... I'll get some pics in the next day or so. 06 MC, CR/B, Cold Weather, DSC, Sport seats, Antracite and Chrome Line Int. |

| MINI2 Newbie | Not Quite Yet Though my EDD per the OL is this Sunday, my MA informed me that it is still in South Carolina, but should be ready towards the end of next week. He told me that they are giving me free floor mats. Anyone have any experience on which ones are better, carpet or rubber? ![]() |

Offline | Rubber mats! I'm in Detroit so our weather is close. I'm already thankful for the rubber mats. Look great and do much better with the winter soup then any carpet ones I've had. 06 MC, CR/B, Cold Weather, DSC, Sport seats, Antracite and Chrome Line Int. |

Offline | What next? Dropped by our dealer when we spotted a Solar Red/Silver Mini on the lot. Our MA waved us in when he spotted us, and we were able to take the Solar Red one out for a spin. (First time I've driven a CVT) Here's the dilemma. The car arrived in the US on 12/01. According to the OL, the estimated delivery date was supposed to be 12/03. Scooty is still in New Jersey at the port, awaiting either a software upgrade, or something to do with emissions. According to our MA, he doesn't know when our car will be released, or even has a time frame on when something is going to happen. We're officially down to one car, as DH's sports car has been shelved for the winter, and we've been commuting together. (Much more time in the car for me!) What should our next move be? DH thinks we should start making noises about cancelling the order if we don't get any answers soon. What do all of you think we should do? FrenchCori ![]() |

Offline | If your dealer is being straight with you I wouldn't give them a hard time, since the delay is probably out of their hands. The waiting is hard. Sometimes I wish my MINI had a GPS on it so I could know exactly where it is at all times. My expected delivery to US port is December 26. The VIN still doesn't show up on the WW site. Darkstar |

Offline | FrenchCori's wait Since my car came into port after yours, and I picked mine up at the dealer yesterday,(the car you drove was parked out front when I arrived at 10:15 BTW), I would be concerned that something has happened to your car in shipment to cause it to be delayed at the VPC, I tend to agree with DH Here's a picture I took yesterday after a short test drive with my new Solar Red..didn't take long to get dirty !LOL 2006 Solar Red/Silver Cooper |

Offline | I offered to go pick it up to my MA, but he didn't bite. All I'm saying is that copious of amounts of swag should be forthcoming at the length of my wait. (Which is now officially a week over. We were told 6 to 8 weeks, and we're going on to week 9.) And I'm starting to feel a bit peeved. Driving the car saturday just made me want my car that much more. Dave (MA) says he's going to call the port monday to try to get some kind of answer, apparently mine is not the only car going through this. He has been honest with us, he just hasn't had enough information for my liking. And no, the car wasn't damaged in transit, he showed us the computer screen where it would have a 'd' next to it if that was the case. FrenchCori ![]() |

Offline | Wow Jeff, yours look great! Still shiny too, good luck keeping that up. Looks like the weather isn't going to be new car friendly in the near future. Pick-up went OK. Car wasn't ready when I got there so we got a lot of the paper work out of the way. Once the car was ready, there were a couple bubbles in the bonnet stripes so those had to be re-done. Pick-up was a bit longer than expected and the actual in car review was quite a bit shorter than expected.06 MC, CR/B, Cold Weather, DSC, Sport seats, Antracite and Chrome Line Int. |

Offline | LOL...I think the shiny bit is due to poor cell phone pics. Although I will say that he's been washed already once in since I got him last week. As long as everything was completed to your satisfaction what's a little bit longer wait...hell you've been waiting for almost two months anyway. I still haven't received my manual however...what's the break in rules again? I think I've exceeded them on more than one occasion. |

Offline | I gotta agree with Mosco here...rubber mats are definetly superior to the carpet type. They can easily be hosed down to clean them and especially if you get black ones, they don't show any wear. Mine are currently covered in road salt residue...but that's beside the point. Next week I plan on hosing them off...something I couldn't do with carpet. |
