Hello all!! This is my first post, as I have just ordered my 2006 Mini Cooper!! I have a March 9, 2006 production date confirmed from my dealer. I thought I would start a March production group thread for those of us that end up in that production cycle.

Let's get this one going. Our MINI is scheduled for production in week 9, on March 3, 2006. Hope for it to be ready for pickup on or before April 1, 2006.

Our specs:
- 2006 MCSa
- space blue with silver roof and mirrors
- cordoba beige leather
- navigation system
- harmon kardon stereo
- DSC
- xenon headlights
- heated seats
- anthracite dash and roofliner (looks better with the Cordoba Beige)

Any other west coast week 9 folks out there?

My car is set for March, also. I have a production number from the car dealer, does that give you any indication as to what week? We aren't able to track the progress of production to delivery of the vehicle, in Canada as you can in the U.S. That's a great feature.

Are you on the west or east coast or somewhere in between?

Fahioncore21, did you order from a dealer in Jax? I got mine from Downtown Mini in Orlando. Great experience there.

called today to add the rear fog and the said it was in production and they gave me my vin# and said I could not add anything anymore hopfully they can do the rear fog at the dealer? Also my dealer wants to charge me close to 700$ for the roof rack does this seem normal?

fashioncore21, yeah, $700 is what the CA dealers quoted me for the roof rack as well, the hitch rack is over $1K.

It definitely looks better than a roof rack from Yakima/Thule, but you gotta decide if its worth 2x the cost.

My understanding is that adding the rear fog at the dealer is possible, but it will be more than if you'd spec'd it at the factory. Don't know how much more.

Hello all! My MINI is scheduled to arrive in late March (early April at the latest). I found a 866 number to get the status on your vehicle on here a week ago but haven't been able to find it again. I wanted to call that number instead of bugging my MA repeatedly. I finally got my VIN over the weekend and can't stop checking the status of my MINI. Is this madness???

what exactly is the hitch rack?I wish the ipod and bluetooth adapter would both work im trying to deceide which one is more important right now it looks as if the ipod is more important since I did not want the cd changer

Ah... March builds! Brings back memories from last year. Our 2005 March build thread got close to 2500 posts! Hope all you '06 March Builders have as much fun waiting for and taking delivery of your MINIs as I did with mine!

Thanks again for your help getting me through the initial phase of waiting for a Production Number and your helpful advice. Can't believe we're less than 2 months from delivery now.

fashioncore, a "hitch rack" is a rack for bikes or other stuff that mounts to a "hitch" installed at the rear of the car under the bumper. This is opposed to a roof rack that goes up top. The hitch on many other cars/trucks can usually support a separately towed vehicle, not sure if this is possible on a MINI.

We're so pysched to pick up our space blue MCSa. But has anyone else seen the JCW GP kit car? Damn that blue-gray color is sweet. We loved space blue when we saw it in the parking lot, but man, if that Thunder Blue-Gray color was available....and don't even get me started on those rims.

Check with you MA or call 866-ASK-MINI. I haven't called the number but believe you need your VIN. You're MA can tell you the most current status of your MINI.

When I ordered my car a couple of weeks ago, I was told my car would go into production March 9. I just called 866-ASK-MINI, and it told me my car was already in production and scheduled for completion on March 2!!! That is way ahead of schedule. Anyone have a similar situation?
