Offline | Arty - I feel for you! That totally sucks. I wonder why they did not book you for the UNDINE which leaves 4/26. If it makes you feel any better, I am praying that I make it on the Patriot. My car still has not changed status yet and is not even in the Body shop yet according to ASKMINI. They still say the est. completion date is 4/27 though - we will see. Hopefully tomorrow the status will change and the car flies through production and gets booked on the PATRIOT as well. |

Offline | Well I hope the best for your MINI, cause now i'm just annoyed... the Freedom is already like Half way accross the ocean, and the Patriot isnt even at the port yet ![]() I've been reading up alot on stuff I want to do to my MINI, but now it's hard to do anything more, cause now I actually need a MINI to get measurements down and electrical things down too... and I was hoping to have it before finals week (5-15 thru 5-19) but maybe its a good thing, then i would be studying instead of driving... I just wish they flew them over... MINI's arent that big, you could fit quite a bit in one huge cargo plane... but ohh well... guess i'll just have to wait... |

Offline | But then it would make the delivery costs a touch more expensive, and I hear the MINIs aren't that keen on flying No doubt Karma is making you study instead of drive, it'll all be for the better good, you'll see. |

Offline | Since taking delivery of my Mini, I have put 900 miles and have visited the service dept. at my dealer for a minor issue. I took it in for a rattle I was hearing going over bumps. Ended up being a left over exhaust manifold bolt that got wedged in between the P/S pump and the subframe. I also found a torx socket underneath the trunk mat. They must be rushing those coopers off the assembly line. ![]() |

Offline | Nilo - glad it wasn't a big deal. 900 miles, baby that's cool! I'm tentatively scheduled to get mine on Thursday. I would have gotten it sooner, but they forgot to order the mirror caps I wanted - had 5 weeks to do so, but oh well, just hope they come in tomorrow or else I won't get the car Thursday. Assuming I do, it will be an *OFFICIAL* birthday present to myself, since Thursday's the day. Can't wait! Hope you don't have to see service again til some free maintenance comes due! |

Offline | MCS Production Completed Today Just got word that my car finished production today (assembly and quality inspection completed). According to ASKMINI it is still hanging out at the factory waiting to be released to distribution. Now I do see the UNDINE that is supposed to leave Southampton today. Even though it would be quite a stretch to hop aboard - one can hope . If not - really hoping to hop aboard the PATRIOT!! |

Offline | Happy Birthday to you! Hopefully, it is delivered in time! Well, I am really ****ed off today as I just found out some damn loser decided to do some artwork on my passenger side panels by using a key. Scums. There are just some ppl out there with nothing else better to do. I really wish I didn't have to but I will be investing in a surveillance camera as my car is not parked inside a garage unfortunately. |

Offline | Nilo, sorry to hear what happened, it really is quite stupid that some people have nothing else to do... That is one worry of mine also, since my MCS '06 wont be in a garage either... but all I can do is hope, or get some storage for it... but first things first... I still need to get my MCS, and hopefully there is no more delays... |

Offline | Are you KIDDING ME???? DUDE - that is sooooo not cool. I am ****ed off for you. I mean seriously - what kind of jerk puts a key to a brand new MINI???? So are you getting estimates on a paint job? You haven't even had the car 2 weeks have you? Unreal {shaking my head in disbelief}. |

Offline | Nilo, DAMN! I can sadly say that I know EXACTLY how you feel. When Audrey was 2 weeks old I drove her to LA to buy fabric. I walked back by my car to see if I still had time on the meter. I still had time so I dropped my packages in the boot and was gonna walk to the store right around the corner. I notice this bum putting a paper clip into the coin slot of my meter. I'm thinking, "hey, don't do that, that's my meter. You're commiting a crime." the paperclip was adding minutes to the meter...no coin needed. Just then this creep steps in front of my path with his hand out. Wanting me to give him the money instead of putting it in the meter. Well, I don't want anything to do with this loser, let alone pay him for committing a crime, so I walk away, into the store I was heading to. I come back not 5 minutes later to see the whole drivers side of my car "keyed", paper-clipped actually. The paper clip was on the ground right by my door. Needless to say, I freaked, started making a scene on the streets of LA (it wasn't pretty, nor was my language). A call to LAPD and I found out that there is a "gang" of these losers who do this to the meters for money. Besides cheating the city out of the meter money, it renders the meter (digital type) inop and costs the city $1100 to fix each one. Now I'm really ****ed. The cop I spoke with even knew what creep I was talking about, cuz he'd arrested him before. Well, jail is just too good of a place for this A-whole. I hope he rots in the gutter. It cost $1600 to get my car repainted. Because it was vandalism my insurance covered it and I had no deductible to pay (amazingly) but still, 2 WEEKS OLD!!! I'm sooooo sorry this happened to you. I'll help you run that key up this person's smallest orifice if you're able to catch 'em. ( Can you tell I'm still mad??) Seriously, I'd put security camera in too. If this kind of stuff happened in front of my home, I'd be watching that security video with eagle eyes. Sending you MINI hugs that your car is fixed ASAP and you feel better soon. Offline | Nilo, I feel so bad for you. I agree with Skatemom and would gladly help re-arrange this person if you can find him/her. Maybe we can do like the end of Braveheart to him? Your making me nervous about not getting the alarm, but again I come back to someone keying your car probably would not make the alarm go off, and if it did you'd still be left with some key mark, though maybe smaller. *******s all the way around though. I'm garaged at home, and in a parking garage at work, but nothing would stop the Skatemom incident. I'll keep my fingers crossed for all of us nothing happens in the future. On a happier note, I'm all set to get Baby at 11am tomorrow morning!!! She's been prepped, and will be registered and get a state inspection sticker in the AM. Not gonna be able to sleep tonight - maybe you'll see some posts from me at 3am. I bought some accessories that I'm going to put on once I get home, and I'll post pictures of Baby tomorrow night - I'll be riding top down all over the place during the day, singing "Happy Birthday to ME, Happy Birthday to ME"![]() |

Offline | I originally posted this is the May 2006 thread, but, although I don't have a firm production date yet, I'm sure it's going to be April as the MINI will be delivered to me on May 15, which means it will be arriving at the dealer about a week before. This is the final spec: MINI Cooper Hyper blue/black Chili Pack -- 17" bullet alloys -- Octagon black cloth/leather Sports suspension plus ASC+T Remote control alarm Electric folding mirrors Heated mirrors/washerjets Chrome-line interior Anthracite roof lining Manual air conditioning Harman Kardon Hi-Fi Xenon headlights and wash Satellite navigation This is my second MINI, and I can't wait! ![]() Some pictures of what it will look like can be found here! |

| heterochromic & loving it | The new ride has arrived at the dealer and is ready for pick-up, heading down tomorrow AM to get it. Had to clean everything out of the old one, pull the wiring for the XM antenna out of the roof, etc. I'm not a "live in the car" sort of person, so I was surprised how much stuff I accumulated in there. Anyhow, when I go down to get the new one we're going have a little discussion about my trade-in as well, I've been tracking Edmunds, Blue Book, etc., and it seems my old car is actually worth more now than it was when I ordered my new one five weeks ago. At this rate, maybe I oughta just keep it! -Ricardo |

If it makes you feel any better, post pictures and we'll comiserate with you It's amazing how many of us are buying another or 2nd MINI isn't it? Doubt there are very many other car models out there that can say the same. Got my flight booked. My collection day will be Thursday evening May 4th! One week from tomorrow. I'm counting the days... Offline | Thanks Skatemom - and congrats on the delivery date being firmed up! Been up since 4:00am, can't sleep, wonder why ?Ricardo, maybe we'll cross paths on 93 coming home or somewhere this afternoon! Congrats, and yes go for it. Mini's have great resale, and the timing is perfect because BMW hasn't released the details of the 07 new models yet, graduations are right around the corner ( I hear Minis are great graduation gifts, wish I lived in such a family growing up - nah, wouldn't change a thing! ). Best of luck today, and see you at MOT! ( Happy BDay to ME, Happy BDay to ME - Baby is coming home today! Happy BDay to ME! ) |

Offline | Happy Birthday fjpatriot! Enjoy the new ride . My car was released to carrier to await a boat. Nothing showing up on WW site yet. How long did it take you all for you to be able to see tracking info on the WW site from when your car was built? |
