Is it weird that my mini hasn't even arrived at the dealer yet? For that matter, it hasn't even left the VDC. I'm on the west coast so I know it takes longer but I had an ETA of the 18th then it mysteriously got moved back to the 28th

. But I hope everyone who is fortunate enough to have gotten their's already is enjoying them. This waiting thing is so hard!

I called my MA to find out where my mini was and it is on its way to the dealership!! If all goes well I will be picking it up tomorow at 630 pm pst. I will get good quality pictures and try to post them tomorow night. Idacal and doma: you should be getting yours very soon as well. her_majesty: did yours come in on the cassiopia? If so you may be getting it sooner than the 28th, but that depends on how far away you are from Port H.

Yes, I do believe that that is the boat that my mini came in on. I'm not terribly far from Port H. (AZ - so I have to go through the Scottsdale Mini Dealership). I'm so excited for everyone because I love seeing the baby pictures that are posted. They are all so pretty; kind of like the old saying, "There is no such thing as an ugly mini." Wait, maybe the saying is about babies....oh well...

Story Time!!!

On Monday I got a call from my MA (Motoring Adviser) that Clip finally got off the boat and was headed for the dealership, so I made plans for after work on Tuesday to go down and pick him up. On Tuesday during lunch I called to make sure that he was there, but unfortunately he was not, I called again after work and he still was not there. I had a feeling that I was not going to pick him up that day because I slept well the night before, only if I don't sleep well good things happen. I tried to make an appointment for Wednesday but my MA would not be there because she had class that evening, so we scheduled for Thursday.

When I got to work at 7:00 am on Wednesday I was asked if I wanted to go home and come back around 5:00pm for some late night work and some OT. I said yes because I did not sleep well that night and thought I could use the extra sleep. But on my way home I figured I could see if I might be able to pick up my car that morning. I called my MA and left a message, later she called back and said that Clip had arrived and I would be able to pick him up. I was extatic, after not being able to track the boat, delays at the port, and a late arrival at the dealership, I was able to pick up my Mini.

There were no problems with the paper work, they didn't try and sell overcharged items, and I had a great time motoring to work, and when I got to work I was able to install my auxilliry input for my stereo in about 30 min. I worked from 5:00pm till 4:00am and got home around 4:30am witch is the time I normaly get up to go to work, so I had a very long day. Then I got up around 9:30 and headed off to work from 12:00-4:30pm. And now its now, I'm posting my story and baby pics,

My MCS is almost broken in!!!! almost have 1250 miles on her...

I know i'll get over that by the end of the weekend

(at like 1100 right now!! and its only been like 19 days!)

Once i get to 1250, I can go over 90mph, and over 4500RPM!!! hahaha

I am at 850 miles so far. Been driving a few extra places to try to make the break-in go quicker

. It is tough keeping it under 4500rpms but I have done that so far. I can't wait to see what it can really do as I hear 4500 - 6000 is the sweet spot

Just an FYI - in case you are not following the "rust" issue that has cropped up over the past couple of weeks with MINIs worldwide - check out this link:

There have been reports of cars not even a year old having rust already (even 2006 cars). Just be aware of the issue and keep tabs on it. If MINI does not do anything about it - you may have to take steps to prevent it yourself. Sucks that we have to worry about this on a new car but better informed than not.
