Offline | Anyone make it on the Manon? Baby never updated to "loaded on vessel" - still showing just "received at terminal". Out of the 88 cars in booking number GBSOU414551 only 22 made it on ( show loaded on vessel ). Anyone know of another booking number for the Manon? Hard to believe they only took 22 cars, so I'm assuming there is another booking number. I can't really complain, some poor cars have been there since 3/27, and one poor car was there since 3/17 - and none of those made it on either. Hopefully someone will reply saying the statuses don't get updated til morning or something ; but if not I guess Baby is Elektra bound on Tuesday. If you did make it on the Manon, let me know your booking number and how many cars are in it ( if its different than the one above ) - again I know they wouldn't leave with just 22 cars... |

| heterochromic & loving it | Bear in mind that ship made stops in Bremerhaven, Germany and Zeebrugge, Belgium prior to arrival in Southampton. BMW, Audi, VW, Porsche, and Mercedes all ship out of Bremerhaven, and Volvo and Saab ship out of Zeebrugge (they catch a seperate ship from Gothenburg, Sweden to Zeebrugge). Then once it's in the UK, Jag and Land Rover are putting cars on board as well as MINI. Those ships are already chock full of cars by the time they reach Southampton. Doesn't make it easier to wait, but it does help explain it... -Ricardo |

Offline | ayde! Beautiful! Just beautiful. I think PW is perfect for the MCSC, must be due to the black top. So what are your first mods???? Our completion dates were a day apart, so I think of them as siblings. And you're the first in the April production group to get your car (You're so lucky to be in the UK and so close to the plant). My baby is about half way across the Atlantic right now, traveling at about 20 nmph...come on Liberty! Thanks for thinking of us. Now go out and have some fun, hopefully top down SkateMom '04 MCS "Audrey" (Jan build) CR/W DAUGHTER'S '04 MCS "Bagheera" (June build) JB/JB HIS USTCC #58 '06 MCS "Lily" (April build) PH/W HERS |

Offline | Ayde - sweet car! Yah, go have some fun, hopefully for a long drive on some twisty roads! Definitely Jealous! Baby is now waitlisted to get on the Elektra. Most of the 87 cars in the group are waitlisted. The new group number is GBSOU414553. The Mini CS rep mentioned it usually takes a week and a half to get on a ship, and it seems most others have waited a week at least. Hopefully she'll get on Elektra, but not gonna look til tomorrow night after the ship has left. Anyone else scheduled to be on Elektra? |

Offline | Well no long drives as yet, although have managed to squeeze 100 miles on to the clock already, with the top down all the way, though rain, hail and sun. For those of you replacing an existing MINI I can confirm that the build quality is much improved over my Sept 03 model. Can't wait for it to get dark, those Xeons and AUX driving lamps need a good test. The wait will not be for much longer for the cousins across the pond ![]() |

Offline | This afternoon was fantastic, but roof down moonlit driving tonight was something else. 0 deg C and crystal clear night. I suppose it's poetic justice that the person to start the April 06 Prod Group was the first to receive his MINI and for all you with cars en-route or trundling down the production line, take heart that every second ticking by is one less to wait ![]() |

Offline | Ordered my 2006 MCS Hello fellow April Production Group MINI maniacs!! I just ordered my 2006 MCS on Saturday. It will be replacing my 2005 Chili Red Cooper which has served me VERY well (man - what a fun car to drive!). Ended up getting $1000 less for my 2005 Cooper than what I originally paid a year and a half ago (with 18,600 miles to boot) - how could I resist the "upgrade" !?!?!?! I have to be honest - the 2007 MINI pretty much sealed the deal for me. No supercharger?? Come on! Plus with it being a first year vehicle, I figured this was my last chance to buy a MCS with all the bugs worked out of it (and did I mention a supercharger ). Wow - I almost forgot what it was like waiting for my 2005 Cooper to be built. Checking the website about 15 times a day, calling ASKMINI after getting frustrated when the status never changed on the site, calling my dealer when ASKMINI didn't have anything new to report, etc. etc. Ahhh memories - I still remember tracking the Liberty across the pond. And now I get to do it ALL OVER AGAIN!!!!!! I have to say - this is all part of the fun - the anticipation that makes MINI owners really appreciate their cars even more. I still get in my Cooper everyday and feel like it is as much fun as the day I took it off the dealer's lot. Well enough of that - on to the specs: Chili Red MINI Cooper S White roof/white mirror caps White Bonnet Stripes Grey Leatherette/Black interior Interior Antracite Premium Package Sports Package 17" S-lites Chrome Line Interior Rear Fog Lamps (to fill in the missing toggle )Harmon-kardon sound system (the best upgrade on this list! ) ipod adapter Limited Slip Differential (added just in the nick of time) Well - there you have it - pretty much an identical car to my existing Cooper, just a few "S"pecial additions. Production Number is 7064XXX Current status is Scheduled For Production with no date according to ASKMINI (website still shows On Order). I was told I should have the car mid-May. Best of luck to all who have received their cars (and those still waiting of course) - you will just LOVE your MINI !! ![]() Last edited by mct : Apr 13th, 2006 at 05:47 PM. |

| heterochromic & loving it | If ASK-MINI were to be believed, my car is getting the thickest coat of paint in British automotive history. Four days "in the paint shop" and counting. And with a scheduled completion date of April 10, apparently it's planning to travel in time after it leaves the paint shop. Now that's something I'd like to see... -Ricardo |

Offline | I had the same thing MGB Boy. The automated ASKMINI said "Paint Shop" for days and days. Even when I knew the car was complete by talking to a human, I still called the automated line each day...how dumb is that????? Offline | Yes, it is poetic justice. I'm so glad you have your car! I'm curious to know if the build quality has changed much between the '04s and the '06s. I know it will be different with the transmission changes, and LSD, the slightly higher HP, but I wonder about the more subtle differences as well. Can't wait!! Offline | mct: You've obviously done your homework, read all the posts and know the drill. Good job posting your specs, prod # and such. So you didn't want to change colors huh? I understand, CR/W is awesome. If we were replacing instead of adding, I would have gotten CR/B...a little change but not entirely different. My daughter didn't want us to have 2 Chili Reds in the garage, so I agreed. It was a tough decision which color to get since Red was off the table. I think I'll like my PH and I'll especially like the HK! Hey, I'm gonna love it all, what am I saying???? Offline | It seems to be fantastic - I haven't heard a squeak, or rattle at all from anywhere in the car. I did hear a knocking noise, but soon worked it out to be the passenger seatbelt. One thing I did like is that alll the cubby holes are padded with a thin foam layer to stop things slipping and rattling - fantastic I'm sure I'll notice other little enhancements over my Sept 03 model too.Working today, so not many miles going on the clock, but it was roof down alll the way this morning ![]() |

Offline | A new level of excitement!!! !I called ASKMINI this morning (on my MINI's birthday) and I got the "released to carrier for shipping" notice. Is this the last bit of information that I can get on my car from ASKMINI? Will a real person there be able to tell me what ship it's destined for? What's the best way to find that out? I'm beyond excitement!!!!!!! ASKMINI also told me my car was in the body shop forever. I never got a paint shop notice. It must have the perfect figure ![]() ![]() |
