Sounds right to me. There are lots of cars booked into that # you gave - GBSOU85206C - from early July. There were even some from late June. So it looks like you should make it. One of the shipping contacts I found told me that even though your booking # was initally assigned it may have simply been on a "wait list" of some sort - which does not show on the WW web site yet.

2002 DS/W MINI Cooper S
Thank you for signing my rear fog light petition. Now we have rear fogs! :-)
That is TOO wierd! As for the voodoo, maybe do some kind of chant and dance around the model of the Aida on Friday. Somehow I think this might result in negative marks on your annual review at work...

So which one is yours? All the cars on top of the multi storey car park are Coopers and Cooper S' waiting for the Aida at Southampton. Currently they are loading Range Rovers onto the Aquarius, Aida takes her berth tomorrow. MINI's are still pouring into the docks at a rate of at least 50 a day. (I keep passing convoys of transporters laden with EB Cooper S's and think "lucky US b***"
If anyone wants a higher resolution photo email me. However, this was taken at long range with a zoom.
Here's the baby keeping Aida's bed warm at the moment. Aquarius Leader...laden with Land Rovers...due out tonight for Baltimore. Let's hope she doesn't have engine problems else Aida will need to kick her heels for a day or two in the Solent [Sorry to tease ]. Tomorrow the Aida will be sitting right there waiting to load 300 to 500 MINI's just for you(a guess on numbers...anyone know the manifest?).
I live about 30 miles away, but was in Southampton on Tuesday for a business meeting. Just spotted a transporter full of MINIs and followed it. Got a sniff of the fairly secure loading area and a sight of s few MINIs. Posted tale on
However, had to go to Southamton again today, and, being overcome by curiosity, thought there must be a better viewing point from the other side of the river (Itchen)! Scouted the map... drove around a bit, then found a rickety old wooden pier half way across the River. That got me close enough with a 6X zoom to take the photos. Higher resolution photo now on my Gallery @
Just wanted to toss my name on this thread as my baby is booked on Aida also. (fingers crossed...)
Jason - Thanks for all the research and the info you posted, very cool stuff. I hope you make it on this time, I know you've been waiting a while, plus we're both heading to the same dealership
eBrit - since you offered, please track down my Mini and send me a high res photo. You should be able to find it by the description in my signature.
Definition of ro/ro (from Southampton shipping news)
Having never read a shipping report in my life (at least before my Cooper S got booked on the Aida) I didn't know some of the terms listed for the Aida; specifically "ro/ro".
A search on Google revealed a site that not only defined "ro-ro" as "Roll on, roll off", but also had a cutaway view of an example ship.
Now I'm worried. I was hoping my precious S would be surrounded by packing material and tucked safely into its own cocoon. It appears it just gets driven onto the ship and parked! Oh my!
Hopefully they at least bolt it down and throw some bubble wrap around it.
It's mine, all mine! Mwooohahaha!
EB/White, white bonnet stripes, Lapis Blue SS, Premium/Cold-Weather/Sport pkgs except 16" white V-spokes
Hi Nowhere...I sure you're somewhere There are quite a few candidates in the front row to be your car ...but this was the most picturesque! Of course it might be in the seried ranks of MINIs behind.
HI res is getting distinctly "grainy" at this magnification...I was shooting from about a quarter of a mile away.
I think it's an Indi Blue Cooper next but one to the yacht's mast.
