Unhappy where is my car?

i am hoping in desparation that my car is in the belly of the isolde. if not then i just might have to give those "samaritans" a call. I guess we all have to wait for ww to update their page further. it kinda confuses me that they are willing to go the distance to update the page to tell us that we are booked on the isolde, after the boat has already left..... why dont they just tell us if we are loaded or not???
-----on a side note, a guy came into where i work with a red/white cooper s. i told him my situation, so he lit up the tires out of sympathy for me. chirped all the way into 2nd---- its a sight like that that makes you real happy you didnt get a wrx..(crap)

Well at 3:00 GMT Aida is now "Half Way to Halifax". Strange no one from Canada has joined in here yet. They must be "so cool" about their MINIs.

The Isolde is being a bit elusive though...Any sightings?

Well I'm off on a few days vacation. I don't think I'll be around when your "heart's desires" ~ Aida & Isolde ~ come into port, let alone when Isolde overhauls Aida (probably when Aida is in Halifax?). But, just in case you are wondering which is which out there on the Ocean, I've posted a comparitive photo...there are a few differences.

I'm off to do some 17th Century Historical Re-enactment at the Duke of Northumberland's ancestral home, Syon Park. Erstwhile famous for it being where Henry VIII's body and coffin blew apart in the night whilst on its way for burial at Windsor Castle. Apparently the revenge of past monks for his Dissolutution of the Monastries Maybe I'll send you all an ePostcard

Anyway, the very best of luck with the almighty traffic jam that's about to happen at New Jersey VPC

Re: Re: More progress across the Atlantic!

AIDA is making great progress across the ocean. Pretty neat that we can see it's position plotted on the map at OceanWeather.com!

Thumbs down WW FYI

Big thumbs down on this one!! Just got this email from a contact at WW - from customer service:
----------------------
Good afternoon,
with regard to your inquiry we have been advised by BMW to no longer provide information regarding the shipment of Minis. BMW have stated that all inquiries are to be dealt with by logging onto www.bmwna.com of by contacting your local BMW dealership.

Sorry we cannot be of further assistance

Best regards

Oh well, looks like the Isolde has left without my car onboard. Was originally booked on the Aida, then the Isolde, and now the Hudson Leader. Hopefully, the third time will be a charm!

Sorry

I've been following the thread...and I hate to torch you all, but the delays encountered with these two ships, the Aida and Isolde have caused you hard charging types to become a bit too effecient in tracking down data. I bet they've never had so many calls about particular ships in their entire business career. It probably took a MINI phenomenon to get anyone vaguely interested in WW's business in general, and of course their loading efficiency in particular. IF this thing about not being able to contact them is legit, it no doubt stems from the fear of the internet. Like bombarding E-mails can lock up someone's server, I would guess WW got scared these phone calls and scrutinization of their business were getting a bit too organized and may become de rigeur for future MINI owners on this website. I must admit I planned to do the exact same thing with the build "class" of 08\30. For one thing, I bet a shipping company isn't used to any "regular" folks putting an eye on their system which could result in some possible negative feedback. As was stated in an earlier post, we have no shipping company to compare them to. We are truly ignorant no doubt of how a large container shipping company runs, so in that respect, I've been amazed at WW's patience with (us) so far.
Just my two cents since I've been following the thread with great interest, but as my car isn't even built yet, my distance emotionally from the ships status probably puts me at a better stance to observe WW's fear of all of us getting informed and organized.

At least our MINIs are keeping each other company. I have the same scenario as you to include production date. Mine is a standard MINI. I hope you're right about the third time being the charm.

Wink That's exactly it Thuma!

I am positive that's what's going on! Some poor secretary is getting bombarded (well, relatively so) with more phone calls than ever!
The website has been good enough for me. Then again, if I was bumped a few times...that would be a different story.

FOR THE LOVE OF PETE!

This morning I showed booked on the Isolde. Tonight I'm showing on the Hudson Leader which loads tomorrow. If I miss a third ship I think I'm going to go ballistic.

Why even bother showing a booking for one ship when it may be 2 (or more) ships later. In some ways I wish I didn't even have access to this info.

The WW site shows this morning that I was loaded on the Takasago, Aida, Isolde.....of course we all know I was "removed" from these. BUT, it does also show loaded on the Hudson Leader. Checking the Hudson Leader does confirm that it was loaded. Only 27 days sitting at the docks.
Ok, so I'm not allowed to complain anymore. Now just worry about fast developing hurricanes or oversized icebergs.
Best of luck to all on getting loaded.
Maybe we need to start a Hudson Leader thread.

Congrats Cape Cod! I still show the same status, so I guess, unless something changes in the next day or so, that I've missed the Hudson Leader too. BTW, there IS a Hudson Leader thread!

I still show on ISOLDE, but I have no clue where it is! I'm still doubting that I am actually on it.

As an aside, I found http://www.accuweather.com to have accurate, and sometimes more legible ship locations. Just change the map to Type: Location, and Location: to where ever your ship may be.

Sure you can, you just get something new to complain about; How slow they are processing cars through the VPC. My car was on dry land for 8 days before it even got checked in to the VPC...

Delay in status change to "Enroute"

Have checked, double-checked, and triple-checked WW site to ensure a mistake wasn't made by them or me--but my car shows up as loaded on Aida on Jul 27.

Still had my doubts as Mini Owner's Lounge and hotline still reporting it as Awaiting Transportation.

One last check of the Owner's Lounge tonight and --
WOOHOO!!! Status has changed to Enroute. The bad news is that although the Aida docks in New York on Aug 6, my estimated delivery date is Aug 16.

I was wondering what impact the arrival of the Isolde and Aida back-to-back would have on my car making it through the VDC. Now I know, I guess.

I'm an optimist, though. Since my car made it out on the first ship on which it was booked (and many others haven't been so fortunate), I am hopeful that good karma whill happen again and my car will make it out of the VDC quickly.

It's mine, all mine! Mwooohahaha!

Aida has gone incognito--but her arrival is imminent

For the last several days I've not been able to find a position for "our" ship on oceanweather.com. BUT I now have an "en route" status in miniusa's member's lounge, which surely confirms that I'm aboard. Even better, it now posts a "delivery date" for "Max" of August 15th.

W&W are reporting that Aida departed Halifax on the 4th of August and is due to arrive here in New Jersey tomorrow, on the 6th. A delivery date only 9 days later sounds a little optimistic to me--time will tell.

"Max" arrived on 19th August 2002

Has the Aida docked at NY or not? Everyone's very quite?

And good(ish) news from me...It looks as if my MCS is only delayed about a fortnight due to shortage of S- spoke wheels. etod now 9th September.
